Weird bug in Radirgy

Post by SuperGrafx »

I was playing it in Tate mode just a few minutes ago so I could practice and experiment with ways to keep the multiplier going. I died near the beginning of Stage 2 (and had 5 credits available in the "Credit(s)" bar on the bottom of the screen) but for some reason, I couldn't continue.

Basically, the game just kept on scrolling and playing, yet not continue or initial entry options came up. Eventually the game kept playing until it reached the second boss, at which point I just hit start and exit.

First time this has happened to me, has anyone encountered this or any other bugs in the game?

Ah, so I'm not the only one.
How many credits did you have banked before this happened?

It's not a bug, it's a feature -- to encourage people to play without continuing. ;)

Just a guess: are you using a boot disk to play it on an american Dreamcast? Those cause glitches in some games, such as Sonic Adventure 2.

As I said, my main goal today was to experiment a bit with keeping the multiplier going as well as trying to figure out the limits of the hitbox. I just found it odd that the continue option didn't present itself.

Yes, I'm using a US/NTSC console with a DC-X boot disc to play this. I had no idea this kind of setup could cause weird glitches, but now I know.
