Elgato HD capture card and sony bvm

Hi,

I just made the switch from composite on a b&o to rgb via scart on a sony bvm, and now im trying to record my NES tetris sessions to no avail.

I bought one of these and was thinking it would be plug and play, but I cant seem to get it to work.

Tips and tricks would be much appreciated.

The converter should work fine on the Elgato. I know enough people using that exact combination to record their low-res RGB sources.

Did you confirm that the converter is working on a HDTV of your choice ?
Are you trying to record from the BVM's loop outputs ? If do, does your BNC to Scart cable run in the right direction ? Scart breakout cables are not bi-directional.

Ahhh, this is surely the problem. Where can I find the correct cable?

When you order a cable, you can usually specify its direction (e.g. at retrogamingcables). If you want to mod your cable, it's just a single pin you have to change (for video, two more if you want audio as well).

So, I got the correct cable and after hooking it up the picture is so blacked out it barely visible. Is my cheap bandridge scart switcher the culprit?
