PS2 component cable issues
So I hooked up my slim PS2 to my HDTV with component cables. I got a picture, but the colors in the game I tested were all off, the screen flickered, and there was a loud buzzing sound coming from the TV. HDMI works fine on this TV-is it the cables, or is there just something wrong with the component inputs on the TV? I know that I plugged the component cables in properly.

Have you tried another component source on your TV?

Dumb question, but you have it set in the menu to YPbPr right?

Re: PS2 component cable issues
There's only one set of component inputs on this TV. And I did set the PS2 and the TV to component. I should try it on another HDTV that I have access to. That might pinpoint the source of the problem.FinalBaton wrote:Have you tried another component source on your TV?

No I mean : on the TV's component input, have you tried plugging a dvd player or a Xbox or something else than the ps2?
That will help you troubleshoot the problem (AKA if that other source works well, then you'll know the TV's component input is not the problem)

Re: PS2 component cable issues
Sometimes it's dark and the green and the blue get mixed up wheN you plug it in. you said you made sure but check connections one more time on both the ps2 input and the colors on the component input.
Also there is a chance your cables are loosening on your steel rca outer connections. Pinch the outer steel of your RCA connectors to get a better connection.
Also make sure you go to the ps2 menu with no DVD inside and make sure the output is set to ypbpr (component) like @bobrocks mentioned

Re: PS2 component cable issues
If your trying to plug your component cables in behind your tv without enough light, its easy to swap blue and green because they look the same.
