Did it! Also got to level 4 on a credit for the first time. That giant worm miniboss is quite crazy. This really is quite a wonderful game, it's growing on me.

EDIT: You know what, I just realized that EVERYONE on the chart is playing with Shishin. I think I'm going to change it up a bit...though the aimed shot is nice.

if you change try the girl, her main shot hurts.
for the worm mini boss, use your demon on the half cow to destroy almost entirely the first batch of bullets, and after on soldiers.

Chaining still sucks, but it's improving, huh? I tend to rely on the normal shot almost all the time.

First try with Kosame, and I did quite well . Level 5 is where the bullets start ramping up, I think I must have only survived for 30 seconds or so, but I got over 500 coins in that time. I really like her powerful front shot, think I'll stick with her.

The boss' entrance was visible, but I got ambushed at the last second. Stupid being surrounded by enemies on all sides. I managed to no miss without breaking my chain until midway through level 3 (the place with the five heads in pots), which is a first for me.

now this is what I call a breakthrough. Finally figured how to use bombs at bosses while keeping the chain going.

Man, the end of the fifth stage just rapes me every time. That's the fourth time I've died in the exact same spot.

I had my best run (again) today. Thanks to bombs, I made it to the final stage for the first time. And oh my god, it is insane. Also broke 5,000 coins for the first time!

for stage 6, i use the demon the whole time except when i want to run faster (eg. at the narrow passage with dragons, just after the boat behind you; at the wains after a bomb; at the 2nd form of the boss on some attacks)
it's much easier to survive that way in stage 6

Fuck me -- I triggered the life item on Stage 6 and didn't get it in time. I've still never triggered the one on Stage 3. Not bad, considering.

You know how to get it right? I usually get the one on stage 3 and the one on stage 4. I'm the same on those bosses though, the fourth boss is easy. I'm terrible on the second forms of the second and third though.

I have a fixation right now with girls in kimonos, so my choice is obvious.

I thought I knew how to get the item on stage 3, but never do. YOu're supposed to kill the "different looking" pot first, then the others, right? I always see one big one, and 4 little ones. the 4 little ones always look the same to me, so I kill the big one first. Is that wrong?

Yes it is wrong, I had this problem because the info on the Guwange FAQ is wrong! It's not any of the pots, but the four statues around the bottom of the screen when it switches from Hori to Vert. One is different looking. I had never even tried to destroy them before.

Thank you. I will try that when I get home. I figure that will help me a lot in getting further in the game. Now if I can just tighten up on the 2nd and 3rd bosses, I'll be in great shape. I of course get pummeled in stage 6 though.
