Sega Wondermega
Anyone know the correct or equivalent belt type to replace the rubber belt that drives the motorized CD lid?

Re: Sega Wondermega
Ok, solved this myself.
For future reference, for those with this little beastie in their possession:
If you're starting to suffer with a lazy CD lid then it's more than likely your drive belt is wearing out. This is a small rubber drive belt / o-ring which is driven by the motor to the cogs that operate the mechanism. Access is easy - just take the case apart (six or so screws in the base) and then carefully unhook the belt - you'll see the drive mechanism between the two layers of circuit boards.
I do not know what the exact belt used by JVC in the original manufacture, but to do a straighforward repair you need a 35mm - 38mm cassette drive belt (these can be bought off of eBay). Simply fit it by reversing the method used to take the belt off.
A 40mm belt may also work, but you need the belt to be fairly tight (not too tight - just so as there's a good amount of tension in it). If the belt you've fitted feels like there is not enough tension on it, fit a slightly smaller one.
