Does such a product exist?
I need one to complement my Extron BNC switchbox I recently purchased. I forgot it can't take audio as well!
I assume such a product would either be a composite or component switchbox rather than just RCA...

Plenty of audio RCA switchboxes exist but all I've seen are manual. You won't find an automatic passive one since there's no power to be drawn from the audio RCA cables.
The same is true for component boxes but there I've at least seen plenty of active automatic ones, although I don't know how the automatic switching would cope with audio only.

Re: Automatic Passive Switchbox for RCA cables?
For the past couple months I've been using a 5 switch, automatic, S-Video switcher from Radio Shack (like $37? on Amazon). I've been using it for S-video + stereo RCA, but it has white/red/yellow RCA as well (and switches my NES which is only composite/RCA cables perfectly).
I honestly don't know what a "passive switch" is, but maybe the above is an option.

Passive typically means it doesn't draw power. I don't know of any passive automatic switch, it's really one or the other.Dochartaigh wrote:For the past couple months I've been using a 5 switch, automatic, S-Video switcher from Radio Shack (like $37? on Amazon).
