I figure some sort of articulating arm CRT TV Wall Mount (or at least with a slight swivel) HAS to be out there somewhere but I've been searching for 2.5 hours so far and have found nothing! I'm REALLY looking for something cool, modern, and perhaps chrome, but I can't even find an ugly industrial looking one! I don't mind dropping a couple hundred dollars, Ikea modern-style is my thing....yes, to match a 20 year old monitor lol.
My monitor/TV is a Sony PVM-14L2MD - 13.5" wide x 13.5" tall x 18" deep (35x35x46cm). The depth (front to back) is the hard part as I've found TONS of wall mounts, but every single one is not deep enough for this PVM - consumer TV set which seem to be about half as deep as Sony PVM's are. The only wall mounts I've found that would fit are made for MUCH larger TV"s and there would be nearly a foot of space to the left and right of this monitor which won't do. Worst case scenario I guess I'll look for a diesel L-Shape wall bracket and just mount it facing straight ahead.
On a related note, I'm trying to go this articulating arm/mount route because no modern and cheap living room entertainment system setup (looking at the modern floating wall-mount type) seem to be deep enough for a small 14" PVM monitor either (again, all the cool modern stuff - like the Ikea Eket Series and the Besta Series are only 15.75" deep max and I need 18" to just barely clear the wires coming off the back)...any other suggestions I'm also totally open to.
CRT Wall Mount arm for 14" PVM? 18" DEEP!

Something like this might do. I would just drill an 18" deep cut board to the base and then attach your monitor if it's too deep

Thanks for the link. I saw those on my searches but unfortunately that would put it up too high for the kids to see - really need it to be wall mounted so I can put it at a regular viewing height (think were we normally mount our flatscreens on a wall, if not probably a little lower since the monitor is so small and the detail of video games needs to be seen while seated down low).
I'm now leaning towards a simple L bracket setup with a shelf...or perhaps repurposing a coffee table or desk (since all the entertainment units anymore are WAY too shallow for a 18" deep monitor). Maybe even a tower of power (20" with 14" on top with 8" on top of that
- still looking for wall mount options however!

Why not just a deep end table or a 18" wide mini bookshelf turned sideways placed next to your regular tv setup?

or something more modern

I like the shelf idea but if you could wall mount it, you could tilt it down towards you.
I don't see why you couldn't use a ceiling mount arm and just attach the arm to the wall instead of the ceiling.

It wont work. if you look closely at that ceiling mount, the space between the 2 forks that bolt to the tv probably isnt tall enough to fit around the back of the tv, if you were to mount it on the wall.
Ive been looking for the same thing. I have my Pvm sitting on a 6 ft x 4 ft table that i use for testing consoles, and it takes up too much room.

It's just aesthetics - I want something nice looking and not a bunch of lag bolted pieces of metal attached to a stud in the wall! Thank you for the suggestions though.
I'm now leaning more towards a repurposed coffee table, end table (like posted), maybe an office desk. Just got a BVM-14F5U as well and that thing is even deeper than the 14L2! Ideally REALLY wanted a cool chromed out articulating arm (think iMac G4 style - have one of those for display in this room too since it's a design icon
but I just don't think they make something like that (and if they do I probably wouldn't want to pay as much as they would be asking for something like that).
Might just do a white platform on the floor raising the first monitor up to sitting eye level (that would match my other modern furniture at least). ...still totally planning. Tower of power with my 4 PVM/BVM's + Sony XBR consumer set might look cool as well.
