I've just picked up an NTSC-J N64 and I'm not getting a picture (power on I get a flicker and then black screen) I'm using a composite cable and outputting to a PAL crt (Sony Trinitron).
Now I don't have an NTSC game at hand but tried my newly acquired Everdrive64 and whilst I might have set up the sd card incorrectly I think it should still display a message or boot to some OS, correct?
I also tried a PAL game in the hopes of a region lock-out message but I'm not sure I would get one, can anyone let me know if there should be a message when a wrong region cart is used?
My PAL N64 has been sent to be modded so I can't verify what the Everdrive64 should be doing. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Ntsc N64 help
Well I at least figured out the n64 is working, the everdrive64 gives a message when there's no SD but it wasn't coming up on my consumer crt (or, more likely, I forgot to test it without the sd card) but on my bvm I get a black and white image. Seems it's an everdrive issue not liking my sd card!
