New Vectrex homebrew shmup to d/l -- Hera Primera...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

A homebrew Vectrex developer by the name of Peiselull (AKA: TRSI) has released a cool new Vectrex homebrew shmup by the name of Hera Primera (it plays like the classic Juno First arcade shmup title):

You can d/l the binary of Hera Primera (it's now updated to the latest January 25th, 2017 revision) on the site -- it'll be listed under the January 16th, 2017 subject heading -- http://www.vectrex.com/

The above listed Hera Primera rom binary works just fine on Richard H.'s VecMulti flash cart setup -- it'll be listed as "juno_first2017125.bin" as a 21.0+ kb download at best.

Here's a youtube video of Hera Primera up & running on a real Vectrex console with a VecMulti cart setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTaGFLkHqMI Nice use of a multi-colored screen overlay to show off the actual gameplay of this fine Vectrex homebrew shmup indeed. Of course, a mono-chromatic colored screen overlay like the classic GCE Minestorm 1st-party produced one works works wonders as well.

Btw, this is not my YT video.

Never have my eyes burned more than the time I got to play on a real Vectrex. Nice to know people still develop titles for it.

It is great that people are still developing games for the Vectrex. I recall there being a few over the last few years. It is a bit like playing on an analogue oscilloscope and it was the 'NeoGeo of its day'. A couple of friends have them and they still work.
