Retroarch core override bug? Halp!

Post by Skykid »

Weird and irritating issue with Retroarch core override function. Had everything configured nicely on the Retropie and was setting various system shaders. Got through most of them until I reached Gameboy, at which point the core override which had been fine until then, started to overwrite every available console.

So if I set up a shader on NES for example, hit save core override (which is meant to be on a system by system basis) that setup was then applied across the board.

Drove me nuts, looked everywhere for a solution, couldn't find one, and formatted the entire thing and started over.

Everything seemed ok but now I've found that the core override is sharing between SNES and Megadrive. Other consoles aren't yet affected.

This is a really weird problem and I can't understand it. If someone who knows Retroarch well can shed some light on why this may occur I'd be really grateful!

Should ask on the official forums no? More likely to get an answer. Also, recent updates make the core/per game overrides much more simpler.

I think I have the most up to date version, and it's indeed simple to apply - it's just I'm getting override overwrites on different consoles. It's painful.

I can try the official forums if nobody here has any ideas I guess.

If it's any consolation, I am just glad when my Pi boots and loads the ROMs from USB like its supposed to LOL.

Saving settings and getting them to stick seems to be the biggest hurdle... so many ways to save and not save settings that it can get to be overwhelming.

Yeah, I know what you mean, there's a whole wealth of learning required in configuring the thing to be emulator specific. I'm holding off on the controls per system for a lot of rainy days. Otherwise if I didn't have this current issue everything would be moving in the right direction.
