What happened to that new 1942 game for XBO/PS4/PC?
What happened to that new 1942 game for XBO/PS4/PC?
Hello. Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I can't find any info anywhere at all on the whole web, YouTube, or here on this game.
It was a new 1942 game for the current machines, and it had "retro" 8-Bit-type visuals. It was called 1942 _____ Strike (and I am not confusing it with Joint Strike from the last gen).
I found the original video from NeoGAF or some where like that. It was a promo video, and the game hasn't been released.
Guys, please help me understandwhat happened to it! Was it a leak, or an elaborate hoax..?

1942 Joint Strike
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1942:_Joint_Strike
Was released nearly ten years ago so i've no idea if it's still available for download.

He specifically said it wasn't Joint Strike, and had pixel art (which JS does not).

The last game on the series was 1942: First Strike on iOS, which used digitized sprites (from Joint Strike). It was also taken down already as far as I know since I can't find an .ipa file of it anywhere.

Sorry, my mistake. When I read "current machines" that's what sprang to mind... I should have read the post properly instead of skimming it!CStarFlare wrote:He specifically said it wasn't Joint Strike, and had pixel art (which JS does not).
I didn't think there was another 194X game on home consoles since Joint Strike either.

Not a new game but in 2013 1942 and 1943: The Battle of Midway could be purchased for Capcom Arcade Cabinet on PS3/Xbox 360 (2010: iOS).Tarma wrote:I didn't think there was another 194X game on home consoles since Joint Strike either.

Thanks, guys! Yeah, I finally found it and it was actually called "1949 Endwar", and it's not even by Capcom! Sorry about that! Looks great, though, and it seems the developer really cares about it.
Thank you all for your effort!

Nice, even if the sprites are identical to the ones from Battle of Midway.
How come nobody made a 1940 style game with KanColle characters yet?

Wow, this looks pretty nice! Good find. I like the destruction on the boss plane.
Two other things got my attention.
1. I don't like clouds obscuring my plane. Maybe in some 'slow' spots, but not during a boss fight/regular action. Anyway...
2. The weirdest thing is in this gameplay video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on_Idj8MdtE
I can't tell if it's a nervous player, or a wonky stick or what, but why does the player wiggle left/right so often? Is that bug in the ship code you think? Or are they just getting ready to move? I've never really seen that before.

Making an action platformer with a transforming grappling hook: ChainStaff. Also made a shmup with multi-ships: Shoot 1UP DX, and more .
