You're insulting the movies I grew up on there. How was John Wick at all a reasonable tribute to the action movies of the 80s. It was a sloppy, pale imitation at best. Quickly made for a quick buck, like most of everything else.
Just to play devil's advocate: where is the evidence behind the "quickly made" comment? What's this in relation to? Zero horses in this race. Never saw either John Wick, and I'm probably on your side about half the time, the other side half the time.
If it's not rattled out at speed, as is the case with the majority of "get these fucking actors to say their lines quick so we can get to post production!" movies, then it's hopelessly shoddy work for someone who pored over their work in any kind of detail.
Really, if it took any kind of concerted effort to make John Wick, that would make it even worse than it already is.
Generally speaking though, movie production in Hollywood has sped up tenfold compared to movies made even 15 years ago. It's usually in and out of the can in a matter of weeks, post production a couple of months.
Again, having not seen it, I think you maybe overestimating Keanu reaves. I can't ever remember seeing him in anything and thinking, "wow... he really put in a lot of effort to get that delivery right".

I was referring to the director/movie production speed, not the actors within. If the director says the first take is good enough, that's his business/responsibility/fault, not the actor's.

Joking aside, I enjoyed Bill and Ted, though it has been awhile since I have seen it. I also liked the cartoon, though it jumped the shark and replaced the actors from the movies with the actors from the live action TV series after the first season. Bogus!
Watched Finding Dory and Kung Fu Panda 3 on Netflix. Good stuff, especially Finding Dory. Kung Fu Panda 3 wasn't as good as the first two, but I still liked it.
yes its 80's classic(aaah 80's the best thing ever)
i remember was in love with this movie
still great but not my type..i hate Christmas and snow movies
it has funny moments and those little funny creatures ehehehehe
funniest part ever was that old lady..They launched that bitch! hahahha
french movie..its very realstick slow pace movie..from start to finish
no thrills at all but deep slow drama..its about guilt and resposability
i liked it..not great but good drama/mestrey movie about unknown dead girl

Why do multiple takes when you know you've reached the actor's capacity?

Yes he was.
I figured that was beyond mentioning -- it totally solidifies my point.

It took about five minutes of watching this to think that it's basically Cars. Sure enough, on reading more about it I see that Cars has been accused of basically plagiarizing this one. The plot is basically the same (arrogant doctor gets stuck in a small town by accident, eventually learns to love the place) and this one would probably be a pretty standard family-friendly comedy if not for what appears to be some gratuitously inserted nudity that has little to nothing to do with the plot, probably for purposes of attaining a PG-13 rating.
last time i watched it was in 1994..i still remember everything
its very entertaining original movie..Movie within a movie in
real world into movies coming to real world !! huh (what a puzzle)
its not Arnold best but its good movie..its fucked up movie..cameos here and there
arnold makes jokes of him and some great action there with great music
the whole movie is a mess in Good way..just watch it and enjoy it
7/10
Darren Aronofsky made of the best movies in his career..
a journey to surrealism..dark world of madness..a path to reach the top (go on)
it has creepy stuff there..brilliant shots..and great acting too..
i think this's his best movie + requiem for a dream

An actor's capacity is always completely different in the hands of a competent director. City of God's entire cast were amateurs from the ghetto, and the Corn brothers even managed to make Cage look passable.

You are mistaking people with at least some talent with some people called "actors". Keanu Reeves has proven he is a one trick pony.

2010 (1984)

WILL I DREAM?
Oh, I see worse than Reeves fairly regularly these days. Whatever the next blockbuster effects extravaganza is, it's guaranteed to have at least one or two completely useless entities in it that blow your mind with their amateurishness.
Just about the entire lead cast or Rogue One sucked so bad I'd say KR would give them a run for their money.

The good guys rarely deliver in SW.
