I need to find a suitable Heatsink for a Turbografx. I just bought a working system but someone took it out.
Also need some case screws. know anyone who sells them?

Re: Turbografx
TG16 doesn't have a heat sink. The 7805 is just screwed to the bottom RF plate. If it's missing the whole plate, you're probably OK to just leave the 7805 hanging free.

Re: Turbografx
its not missing the sheilding. Its missing the aluminum piece that attaches to the sheilding that the 7805 then bolts to.
as far as just letting it sit there, It will probably work for a while then overheat after several hours.

Re: Turbografx
It actually does have a separate heat sink which is screwed onto the RF shielding. You can't just leave the 7805 hanging by itself or else it'll overheat and shut down after a few minutes.SmokeMonster wrote:TG16 doesn't have a heat sink. I stand corrected. If you can't source one, I wonder if you could use a TO220 ceramic insulator with thermal compound?

Re: Turbografx
here are the correct screws
http://www.ebay.com/itm/304-A2-SS-Phill ... 1813496411
they are M3 x 14mm. I have some 12mm ones that work but the originals are 14mm. dont think you will find new "gamebit" head ones. pm me if you want me to send you some 12mm screws.
