Has M2 given any indication that this will be released in NA (or better yet, ported to PC)? I've been scouring the internet, trying to find a source. I've almost bought this thing several times, but I keep backing down because I don't want to mess with a separate PSN account, and I'd much rather have the game completely in English.

Also, if I import the box set, I have to redeem the game code on a Japanese PSN account, right?

Yes, but once you jump through the hoops once, you'll then always have access to the game in your library regardless of which account you've signed in with.

I redeeded the code on the PSN website using chrome with a language translator, wasn't that hard. Setting up the JP PSN account was a little more tricky, but we can help if you are stumped with anything.

You guys might have to wait a bit for a price drop on Amazon JP; picked up my Premium Edition last week when it was only 4k yen.

It's a really nice special edition, even though I think I still would have prefered a physical disc instead of the psn card.

The latest update (ver1.03) added a controller assignment menu, one benefit of which is that you can now assign a PS3/USB controller to Player 1 side. I just played a session, glad to be able to use an arcade stick now and still submit to the leaderboards. (Now, if only I could either figure out what's keeping me from activating Premium Max, or stop choking on Premium Normal...)

i can report that my stick modded with a zero delay pcb works nicely on player 1 side with the update.
mine is the ps2/ps3/usb version. hopefully the rest of the m2 ports will also come like this

Which pcb is that? I'm contemplating a PS360+, which seems to have very low lag. But I'd rather wait out for "real" PS4 support.

Can the game be played in 720p? Assuming so, does it render at the resolution, as opposed to being locked to 1080p (i.e., does 2X vertically fill the screen in yoko)? Finally, to get anamorphic full screen on a 3:4 monitor, can horizontal and vertical scaling be set independently?

That is incorrect. They even have ties with Degica, so I think it's possible.

They do, they just haven't self-published anything. They did the Koihime Enbu port (published by Degica, even) and they also have an in-house 2D animation suite called E-mote that they used or licensed to produce quite a few visual novels, among other things.

The major obstacle in the way of a international release is logistics--if they self-publish they have to be able to manage international customer service on their own and if they go with an external publisher they'll have to compromise on post-launch support, price point, etc.

I'm confident it'll come over one way or another.

The LE doesn't come with a physical disc, it's a download code that you need a JP PSN account to redeem, though setting up the latter isn't too hard.
