Hi all,
Got a noob hardware question... I Bought some VGA-to-BNC RGB cables, but I don't know if the cables and/or the connectors are 50 or 75 ohm.
Checking out http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/vga2rgbs.html, it seems everything *should* be 75 ohm (which seems to be what I need)
What are the odds of this cable or the BNC connectors being 50 ohm? I.e. is there any chance I bought a bad cable? Can I accidentally damage an Extron or a PVM/BVM this way? I guess I would need a multimeter to check the resistance?
Thanks!
bought a VGA-to-BNC RGB cable -> how do I know it's 75 ohm?

50 ohm is used for audio cables. All VGA cables should be 75 ohm. You won't break anything by using the wrong ones. For short runs it hardly matters.

It's 75 ohm characteristic impedance. You need a LCR meter to measure it.
