How to crop screen on a BVM
Was hoping someone on here would be able to help with an issue I'm having. I have a BVM-D32E1WU and have run into an issue with NES games where I need to remove the extra junk on the sides of the screen that the overscan on an old CRT would have removed. I am aware of a way to change this in the maintenance menu on the E Board, however, this seems to be a global setting. I was hoping there was a way to make these changes on individual channels so I do not need to change the setting when I switch to or from the NES. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

In theory, the XRGB-3 has video processor features and it can output 15khz.jamon1567 wrote:Wanted to check in again in case anyone missed this the first time around. If anyone can help it'd be much appreciated.
I do not own an XRGB-3, but the XRGB-1 and XRGB-2 output 15khz just fine.
You should be able to chain an XRGB-3 through an Extron RGB or Kramer FC-14 to get the image to your CRT of choice.
edit: This might affect image quality. Try before you buy.

Thanks, I have an Extron RGB 203 Rxi already, so I'll have to do some research into the XRGB-3. Would I be able to customize settings for each system though? I currently have all of them going through a GSCART switch straight into the BVM....

You would have to dive into the menus on the XRGB-3 to set it up. So, if you're looking to completely avoid tweaking the settings for each console, it probably won't work out. The only advantage would be the ability to leave your display's settings alone--and use a remote control to change the settings.jamon1567 wrote:Thanks, I have an Extron RGB 203 Rxi already, so I'll have to do some research into the XRGB-3. Also, you really want to see what the XRGB-3 looks like when it outputs 240p.
Your other option is to line double, use a proper video processor, and use a scan converter setup to get 240p.
Before you spend any more money, try setting your display up with the 240p test suite first. If you can find a compromise setting that works ok for all your inputs, it might be better.

Re: How to crop screen on a BVM
I want to tweak the settings for each console, but what I was hoping to do was to have presets for each console, or even individual games if needed. On the BVM you're able to setup 99 different channels if I recall, but the option to crop portions of the screen seems to only be available as a universal setting, not something I can setup on individual channels. Ideally I was hoping there was a way to do this on different channels, but absent that, I was wondering if the XRGB-3 had a similar option. I don't really know much about the XRGB Mini, but I do know that there are different profiles out there for different peoples needs. If it was something I could setup and quickly switch back and forth, it may be worth me looking into. Otherwise I guess I'd either have to get accustomed to the useless junk on some games and systems, or taking a few minutes here and there to change the settings on my monitor when needed.

If that monitor supports 480p, the Framemeister is supposed to be gorgeous.jamon1567 wrote:I want to tweak the settings for each console, but what I was hoping to do was to have presets for each console, or even individual games if needed. It does, and I'll say this. I never actually played Skyward Sword cuz it looked like such hot garbage on my plasma, but I hooked the Wii up to this and it looks great. I'll be getting around to that sometime soon
