Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Is this going be like Deathsmiles 2 in PAL Europe we will never get it? and some wonder why you have few fans in Europe. Its not like we have 750 million people in Europe

Both JP disc releases are region free, so it's possible to play in Europe just a bit more expensive.
Xbone isn't doing so well in Europe outside of the UK though, so for a backwards compatible game on 360 it makes more sense to release in US.

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
When is Infinite Burst coming out? And how long will it take?
Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
X1 has low sales in Europe but this is a 360 game and millions of Euro gamers still have a 360. I got Bullet Soul day 1 so i am fine but for many others GOD would be cheap and easy to buy. I would also buy it again if it came to Europe.TransatlanticFoe wrote:Both JP disc releases are region free, so it's possible to play in Europe just a bit more expensive.

No-one is still looking for new PS360 releases though. I was surprised Caladrius and Shooting Love 200X got a release when they did but the last gen has been completely dead for 12 months now. And being playable on xbone is only useful for US and UK, so it doesn't surprise me this is US only for now.Alfred wrote:X1 has low sales in Europe but this is a 360 game and millions of Euro gamers still have a 360. Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
I emailed 5pb, asking if either of the bullet souls games would ever make their way to pc/steam and got this in reply
Online translators aren't helping much. Is there anyone here who speaks Japanese? Is it pretty much "we're busy, bugger off"? or is there something in there I can get excited about? I really loved bullet soul on the 360 but don't get a chance to play it now since my nephew took my japanese 360 hostage in order to shoot the mans in cowadoody.盛様

This seems to be an interview with 5pb asking why did they decide to release the game overseas 5 years after Japan. Google Translate ain't helping much so if anyone could dig for some info it would be much appreciated.

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
From what I gathered, 5pb released it on the North American store because they thought it might increase their chances of getting Xbox One backwards compatibility for the game. It sounds like they aren't having much luck getting compatibility added for their Japan-exclusive games so they wanted to try making Bullet Soul (and eventually Infinite Burst) non-exclusive.Oniros wrote:http://jp.automaton.am/articles/newsjp/ ... n-release/

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Well I screwed up and got this instead of infinite burst. The enemy bullet canceling thing makes it way too easy, is there an update, setting, mode in this version to get rid if that?
Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Triggering the second loop is fairly difficult in the original game and playing for score starts to get dangerous from the midpoint of level 3 onward. The game is certainly not as easy as many seem to think.2dvertical wrote:Well I screwed up and got this instead of infinite burst. Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Would you recommend Infinite Burst ? Any more stages or just arrangement?
Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
You can find impressions for Infinite Burst in this topic starting around page 8. Yes I'd recommend it over the original.

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Before you totally give up on the original give the caravan mode a good try - (but yes - don't miss out on Infinite Burst).

Besides both BS and IB being the same game with their own set of modes and otherwise, IB is radically different to vanilla BS, considering bullet patterns, enemy placements, other stuff.

Bullet Soul is coming to Steam. Why not Infinite Burst is beyond me. WTF 5pb?

My thoughts exactly, though as i did mentioned in a previous post, the differences between the Vanilla and IB are night and day, and the layouts very different.Oniros wrote:Bullet Soul is coming to Steam. Why not Infinite Burst is beyond me. WTF 5pb?

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
At least it'll include the DLC, so it can compete with IB in terms of content. Still kinda weird how they've been pushing the original on the digital front but not the sequel...
Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
You really have to ask??? It's a common pattern. Examples:Oniros wrote:Bullet Soul is coming to Steam. Why not Infinite Burst is beyond me. WTF 5pb?
- 3DS US 2015-02-12 3D Fantasy Zone
- 3DS US 2015-04-16 3D Fantasy Zone II W
- Xbox 360 US 2016-09-16 Bullet Soul
- Xbox 360 US 2016-11-01 Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst
And before you decide to boycott "Bullet Soul" to await the seemingly inevitable release of "Infinite Burst" consider that only good sales of both titles might convince Mages/5pb.Games to give Ketsui on Steam a go after the disappointing results for the PS3 port - it's not like they bothered to bring Ketsui to the Western Xbox 360 Marketplaces. And even Cave stated that Ketsui on Steam would be in the hands of Mages/5pb.Games - as Cave would not consider writing a PC port of Ketsui from scratch and Mages/5pb.Games already owned the assets of the Xbox 360/PS3 ports.

Steam page:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/544580/
Surprised that MAGES.INC. is listed as the publisher - not Degica (like Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds).
Guess it's not that surprising after all: Steins;Gate.

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
At least FZ and FZII are different enough for both to be worth the purchase. Not sure if I would agree on FZ being less desirable, since it is the original AC game and a great game in its own right. It's also a common pattern for the first game in a series to be released before the second one.HydrogLox wrote: [*]3DS US 2015-02-12 3D Fantasy Zone

i.e. in order to maximize income, the less desirable title is always delivered first.

Well, regardless, at least it can be its own thing. I doubt the sales of the original will then later port Infinite Burst onto PC/Steam later.
Other than that, here's the PC/Steam game manual for first timers or those really still interested into Bullet Soul. -> http://bit.ly/2muQt6Z

Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Anyone know if there's any relation of Bullet Soul to Tatsujin/Truxton? Maybe it's just the way one of the characters fires but the game feels like it's got some of the Truxton 2 DNA in there.
Re: Bullet Soul - (STG/5pb/Xbox360)
Did they add any modes where the bullets don't all disappear as soon as you killed the enemy that fired them? Does Infinite Burst have any mode like this? Wondering if I should get either of these on Steam or 360.

If you're looking for something like that, pick up Danmaku Unlimited 3. https://sunnytam.itch.io/danmaku-unlimited-3
Khoa recommended it to me. One mode has bullets disappear into orb items similar to bullet soul and another more is more classical shmup (when you get a Graze High or use the hyper you'll get the bullet soul style cancelling though). Unlike bullet soul, grazing the soul bullets as well as collecting them is extremely important for scoring (score is all about grazing and item collection, and collecting the soul bullets rapidly fills your hyper meter).
It feels like what Bullet Soul's soul mechanic should have been originally.
