Wavy lines top of Screen - BVM-D32E1WU

The top inch or so of screen has wavy lines (see pics). I've tried various settings (H Phase, P Pin, etc) but nothing seems to change it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Potentially caps on the deflection board or the RGB input board.

Do you get the same display issue when using a different input other than RGB?

Found this is specific to the Neo Geo.

Tried PS1 and PS2 on the same RGB input as Neo (they all go through a switch box). No wavy lines.

Tried PS1 and PS2 on Composite input, no wavy lines. Tried Neo on Composite, wavy lines.

I did find this page which mentions a similar issue, which was fixed by tweaking VSYNC (?) but I have yet to find any such setting on the BVM.

The bloody AES and MVS systems with their slightly off spec video signals.

Have you tried enabling the VCR option in the extended menu on your D32 to see if that makes a difference?

The Neo Geo AES systems are known to have wonky sync signals. I had a similar issue with RGB capture and also displaying on a BVM-1911. You can try using a sync cleaner or try enabling the hidden VCR mode in the maintenance menu.

Try using the different comb filters that are available for composite input. The options are in one of the onscreen menus.

You'll be surprised how good it can make a composite signal look. It won't be RGB, but it is very impressive for what it is.
