There's a few caps I'd like to get help identify on a game gear rayearth edition.
I'd like to know uF and V.
Two of these are on the main board:
"R4
50"
Three of these are on the right side board:
"100
6S
5A2"
Two of these on the right side board:
"X1
47
4V"

All caps in rayearth board:
4.7uF, 35V (1)
10uF, 16V (4)
22uF, 6.3V (1)
22uF, 35V (1)
33uF, 6.3V (1)
68uF, 6.3V (1)
100uF, 4V (1)
100uF, 6V (1)
100uF, 25V (1)
820uF, 6.3V (1)
---
These are the caps I don't know what they are:
"R4, 50" (2)
"X1, 47, 4V" (2)
"100, 6S, 5A2" (3)
The only caps I found matching in the viletim cap kit were these:
10uF, 16V (4)
33uF, 6.3V (1)
Viletim kit according to read values on the caps:
0.47uF, 50V (2)
1uF, 50V (1)
4.7uF, 50V (1)
10uF, 16V (5)
10uF, 50V (3)
22uF, 16V (3)
22uF, 50V (1)
47uF, 16V (2)
68uF, 25V (1)
100uF, 10V (6)
Viletim kit according to note which comes with kit:
0.47uF, 50V (2)
1uF, 50V (1)
4.7uF, 35V (1)
10uF, 16V (5)
10uF, 50V (3)
22uF, 16V (3)
22uF, 35V (1)
33uF, 6.3V (1)
47uF, 6.3V (4)
68uF, 6.3V (1)
100uF, 6.3V (6)
Should I just say screw it and replace all caps with same uF just I take higher volt caps?

Re: help me identify some caps
The voltage rating on an electrolytic capacitor means maximum voltage before damage. It's perfectly fine to use a higher voltage cap as a replacement.
So that's 0.4uF. Actually it's 0.47uF. They like to leave off the last digit sometimes to make it extra confusing. The 50 means 50V.
6V
4V
'R' means '.'Elrinth wrote:Two of these are on the main board:

well got the Game Gear working and got the rgb tv-out mod working. However the image is slightly jumpy on my uhdtv. Losing sync every now and then on the framemeister.
Any clue?

its easy to lift/break a pad on not know it on the GG. Trace each cap and make sure you have continuity between the cap leg to where ever it goes.Elrinth wrote:well got the Game Gear working and got the mod working. However the image is slightly jumpy. Mabeye the gamegear needs some extra components on sync like the Genesis does? Not sure ive never added tv out on a gamegear but i have seen the same problem you describe on other sega consoles if an lm1881 is missing from the sync line.
