Where can one get PS2 consoles modded to become region free?

Anyone know where one can still get PS2 consoles modded via mod chips to play all region games?

I know this forum is full of skilled modders for video output modifications, audio upgrades or rgb board installations, but don't see much about mod chip installations being done for "newer" (if one can call them that) consoles such as the PS2.

I'm not completely sure this is the right board for this thread but the "sales" and "wanted" boards didn't seem completely appropriate either since this is more of a general information question that I believe could be of help to others as well.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Can't help you buy a modded PS2, but that's because I don't want/need one.

Get an Action Replay and softmod. You can rip your game disks from other regions, patch them, burn a backup, and play.

No need to spend time and money modding the console hardware.

I'm located on the East coast in the US.

I used to have my ps2 consoles modded (back in the day was messiah, matrix and magic chips I recall) and it was awesome. You can't beat a mod chip to play imports. Action replay method works but it isn't as practical or convenient IMO.
