Post by SAM »

The paper model of Radirgy's purple hair girl is avaliable to download at MileStone site.

http://www.mile-stone.co.jp/product/rad ... di_dc.html

Click on the [?] to download.

Login Name is "radirgy"

And password is the 6 orange characters on page 9 of the DC version manual.

****************************

Any tips on making paper model?

What kind of glue to use, too much water wold soak into the paper and winkle...

Moreover, the paper of the color laser printer (in the office of the company I work for... Just don't tell my boss. ) is not strong enough, any idea?

I laughed for about two minutes straight when I found out how friggin' obvious that password was.

Also nice to know what her name is: Tadayo.

I'm looking at page 9 in the manual and I don't see 6 orange characters. can you be a bit more specific?

The first English characters you see in the upper left-hand corner (or the top of the first column). Right beside it is the equivalent in katakana.

SAM: I use PVA glue (thick white stuff) and an inkjet printer... stuff comes out well enough that way. Just make sure you're using fairly heavy paper, about postcard weight. I happened to have some 200gsm paper lying around, that works well.

I used some semi gloss to make these things. The paper was great, but it was just too damn hard to make! requires skill, but they look really cool!

good luck!

Used some 190gsm papers got from a book store nearby. Laser printer don't print well on this extra thick paper. The HAL model is completly ruined, but the girl is fine with a few trys.

One thing is good about Laster printer: once it is printed on the paper, it's print job won't be ruined by the water from the glue later.

But well you have to waste some paper and color toners to get it print right. Color toners is COSTLY. :x

I guess my boss won't mind since he don't know about it. (using the company's color laster printer)

Erm... make sure you have sharp scissors and a sharp knife handy. A ruler with a steel edge of something is good too, so that you can run the knife against it... I've used old plastic cards and ended up cutting into them.

For folding, using a pen with an empty cartridge to score the lines before you fold usually helps immensely. Sometimes you'll have to decide whether to score or cut first... sometimes you won't have anywhere to hold a small piece while you score it, other times the scoring will make it weird to cut.

Finally, I found it was easiest to apply the glue with a toothpick or a bamboo skewer. It lets you smear it right where you want it.

To unpack .lzh files you need something like 7-Zip or WinRAR. The files within the archives are normal .pdf files.

Opps, that's too bad. :(

I start building the Radirgy model, but there is no instuction on where to fold... :?

All I got from the insturction sheets are sequence to join and where to join. The assemble job is not going to be easy. :x

The only good thing is if I ever scraw up on any parts I could just print another.

...you know, I'm thoroughly convinced that the designer is a psychotically cruel person and/or didn't actually assemble the model physically after making the design

Image

I'm stuck on her jacket. The pieces seem physically incapable of being properly glued together :x I used tape, primarily, just to get a rough mock-up/hold pieces together while glue dried, but even that was a pain. I imagine this would be *slightly* easier to do if printed out on one of those industrial-size printers for printing posters and such... make a life-size Tadayo :P

[Good luck with her head, incidentally... yikes]

Done.

Ok, so actually I'm not :D, I don't particularly like the way Milestone design their models. Minzoku, I think I can see why you're complaining - the front and back sections look evil, those little while lines seem impossible... good luck pulling that off :p

Really done :) ...with mediocre results :|

Image

Frankly, the legs aren't sized properly and would be a pain to try to build 'perfectly' [which then makes it good that I gave up on trying to make it perfect] Also, a minor nitpick, but the thingie on her hat is too far back, and the hat is asymmetrical if you try to rotate it to the correct position.

Completed the left leg.

Minzoku, you are right about the left foot being smaller than the right. It's like Tadayo is just wearing shoe of different size. :o

Thinking of leaving some blank paper stucking out of the underwear to stick the skrit on. :?

I just have a plain HP printer, the cheapest one I could find because I was only going to use it to print documents. I assembled her so quickly because I did nothing else for two days :?

Actually, my Tadayo doesn't stay together. If you blow on her, she falls apart :( so I will have to put sticks or wire inside for support.
