i'm all for write-ups on the shooters, but it really pisses me off the amount of ones that show up (mostly only in English) that just whine and whine and whine about their crummy little disappointsments with the game, and you're like, "shutup! most people don't ever get the chance to play any of them at all, and all there is in their language to read about it is whine whine whine from some guy thats gotten to play all kinds of titles on cabs".

"gratefulness" should never be a reason to rate a game higher than one would normally do. So if he honestly thinks that Exelica stinks, the fact that most westerners won't ever play is not a reason to say it's great.

So what are you trying to say? People reporting about shooters should just say every new shooter is just totally awesome and rad?
If that's the case, why even bother going to the loke-test in the first place!?

BTW: One could just as well say: "Here's somebody who takes the time to go to a location test, stand in line, take pics, write everything up and put it on his website. And all you get are readers that whine and complain, and take reports like these for granted."

well, way i see it, it only seems to be the moany types that get to play the games.

i'm happy to take all that off their hands and do it enthusiasticly, then maybe we'll actually get more arcades over here if it seems like people really do want the games and aren't always disappointed in some minor aspect of them.

for the record, i had no idea who wrote that insofar as posters here, or if they had an account here at all, and really i don't want to be part of that as it could stifle actual true thoughts if people hold back from saying anything because so-and-so is some other guys mate.

Worked for me, opened the archive with Winace and the video ran fine.

From your comments in this thread it looks to me like it's "the moany types" that don't get to play the games.

BTW, did you ever get to the bottom of the 4D lizard scum gamestore employee interdimensional Shikigami no Shiro thieves case? I was keen to hear how that one got resolved.

i personally, am grateful to icycalm for the great work he does. bad review on Exelica? sure. but the videos still make me want to play it.

If anyone reads what he said instead of skim reading, you'll see he mentions that the game might be better than impressions suggested, after noticing a game mechanic in the videos later on. So it's not even a slating really.

Um, that article started out disappointed but seemed to end on an optimistic note, which is appropriate since you don't know how the final version will be changed and whether your initial predilections may maturate. Seems quite fair and considerate to me. If you want to write location test reviews full of praise, why not head to Japan and do so?

ckm, just because somebody says the don't like a shmup doesn't make it unplayable. Don't let stuff like that get to you. (Yes, I should say the same of myself.

)

I play stuff like Arrowflash and love it dearly even if it's considered crap compared to other games.

Funny thing is, it's a frikkin Warashi game. Those guys have done nothing but excel at being just mediocre. It isn't Icycalm's job to sell us on Excelica. Also, sometimes even shooters are weak. Ask Metallica, they'll tell you that it's sad but true.
