Sony TV 16:9 from switch on

Ahhhh this is killing me. Is there a way to turn on a Sony TV and it display 4:3 instead of 16:9 haha.

I can get into the service menu but everying is abreviated.

Any ideas?

Usually there's a dedicated button on the remote (assuming you have the original one)

PS: or you could definitely cut/isolate some pin on the scart input, don't remember which one.

BUMP: sorry actually I think I might have done that through the service menu, but many many years ago and I don't remember how...

I know about the button on the remote, it's just a bit annoying. I would like it to be permanently in 4:3

the scart connector has a pin to select 4:3 or 16:9.

It's pin 8 on the connector itself.

Is it pin 8 and no resister to pin 16?
