As I said on the DBCS topic, only Darius 1 is a game, and is an already-existing Arcade Archives release.
The 7 CDs are soundtracks.
Gematsu got it right, at least.

Amazon.co.jp ships this outside Japan by the way, problem is the shipping costs are higher than the game...

Re: Darius 30th Anniversary Edition announced for PS4
It's hard being a fan of "old school" Japanese games, and living outside of Japan.
We always get left out of these celebrations, we get none of these items or merchandise locally, and in order to import them, it's both hard finding a retailer that ships outside of Japan, and expensive.
They really should call this a Japan-only celebration of the Darius 30th Anniversary, since as usual outside of Japan we will get jack squat.

nin-nin-game.com has it for a more typical (not insane) ship price. My total shipping charge from them to NYC was $20.00. I think there's an error with that Amazon listing. They are usually much cheaper. $230 shipping lmao.Lawfer wrote:Amazon.co.jp ships this outside Japan by the way, problem is the shipping costs are higher than the game...

I bet the interview book are the only "selling point" here.
Re: Darius 30th Anniversary Edition announced for PS4
come on Taito, the Darius games everyone wants to replay the most are G-Darius and Gaiden

First discless physical version of Battle Garraga and now this.kane wrote:A huge disappointment is approaching fast.

I've come to terms with the Garegga situation by rationalizing that M2 is a tiny pub and that at least they've teased a western release. With this, I guess the takeaway is that Taito at least considers Darius to be worth investing money in? A better fate than Gradius, R-Type, and many other classic series.Lawfer wrote:First discless physical version of Battle Garraga and now this.kane wrote:A huge disappointment is approaching fast.

Be grateful that Taito is kind of "alive" inside SquareEnix, looking at rotten corpse of Hudson Soft in Konami's attic.

So play Asia is out of preorders. At this point, only Amazon?

Wow, had no idea I had to move on this so fast. Typically Play-Asia pre-orders don't sell out so quickly...

well the box is nice
Re: Darius 30th Anniversary Edition announced for PS4
Where have you been? This isn't 2005 anymore, Play-Asia pre-orders with limited stocks sell very very quickly, especially since they are basically the only ones who offer East-Asian products for worldwide shipping.amdiggywhut wrote:Wow, had no idea I had to move on this so fast. Re: Darius 30th Anniversary Edition announced for PS4
I suppose it wasn't clear how 'limited' this was? Play-Asia has been selling Pre-Orders of the Battle Garegga pack there for months without selling out, so I figured I had more than a day to pre-order.
Re: Darius 30th Anniversary Edition announced for PS4
ebten is still selling. I just picked up 4.

There are so many other (and better IMO) options for importing: AmiAmi, Nin-nin, YesAsia, even Amazon Japan.

AmiAmi, and YesAsia don't have it in stock. For Nin-Nin I would have to either use paypal (which their conversation rate is always been crap) or use a no foreign transaction fee credit card. I really don't have a need to set up another account on Amazon.JP. Wish there was another place to pre-order.Oniros wrote:Wut?Lawfer wrote:Where have you been? At least Taito is still known as a brand with some kind of quality... though it's depressing to see them as a shadow of their previous selves.
Sadly, I have no hope of Hudson being anything other than an IP sponge that Konami will wring dry...

At least we are getting some nice releases but mind you looks like it can be expensive too and I dread to think what the import tax will be

Then add on to that the 'waiting time'. Well, at least it keeps that lazy lot in a jobLawfer wrote:About 70 Eur according to Amazon JapanMintyTheCat wrote:At least we are getting some nice releases but mind you looks like it can be expensive too and I dread to think what the import tax will be

Just for comparison: what's the duty on a kilo of Cocaine these days?
Edit: http://www.narcoticnews.com/drug-prices/cocaine/
So about 25% of 'Colombian' price but you'd have to factor in 'shipping & handling'

I'm blown away by the apathetic response to this release. It's the first ever physical arcade-perfect home release for a legendary arcade game, complete with OSTs for the entire series and super plays for most of the series (pre-Burst). And it's actually on a disc!
Meanwhile DBCS is getting more outrageous levels of genre fan-service DLC.
I honestly couldn't feel more catered to.
