Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
What if they accidentally deployed an earlier version with bad slowdown while only Nick got the proper one?
Seriously, I've asked everyone and I never heard anyone say the slowdown is fine

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Can someone give me some reasonably achievable goals to test for slowdown on my system? I'm not familiar with DDP:R at all, so any hints on where it should and shouldn't slow down on suggested test areas would be helpful as well.

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
They should post game specs for the target build.
I cant see why they don't have maybe 3 settings of WAIT function.
Perhaps if CPU core above 3.5 then setting 1.
Below then setting 2 etc
or even some kind of CPU slider like mame has.
Although I cant imagine Cave will bother with that. Just get the sales disband the team and move onto the next port ala deathsmiles.

Try doom/hivac in BL ArrangeThe Coop wrote:Can someone give me some reasonably achievable goals to test for slowdown on my system? I'm not familiar with DDP:R at all, so any hints on where it should and shouldn't slow down on suggested test areas would be helpful as well.
if there's noticeable slowdown right away and all the time, it's bad
1.5 and BL seem to be accurate
It probably has nothing to do with specs and Nick probably had no issues in that video because he never increased the rank or used the A+C shotdefected78 wrote:They should post game specs for the target build.
I'd like him to post a video of playing with the A+C shot and raising the rank and see what happens
Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
I'm going to stream a bunch of this this evening BST. I am running an extremely high end PC so it will be interesting to see if the issues persist on a $3000 PC as well. It would have to be my favourite DFK game mode that has the biggest issues as well

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Bananamactic so the 1.5 and regular BL mode is playable?
I only played abit of the 360 version but never touched Black Label, so if those 2 works as they suppose to maybe I buy it.

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
so i tried it, and you already know what im gonna say
1.5, 1.51 and BL are ok
Arrange A has no slowdown during hypers so its unplayable, BL Arrange has too much of it

You know, there are other shmups than cave's out there (and in Degica library).defected78 wrote:This is a joke like deathsmiles that isnt patched to this day.
Deciga stick to rpgs.
Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Considering I've never been a fan of chain based scoring system. Which modes are the most permissive in term of chain conservation?
Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Yeah dont blame Degica for everything. Sure they could have looked into the game abit more before release.qmish wrote:You know, there are other shmups than cave's out there (and in Degica library).defected78 wrote:This is a joke like deathsmiles that isnt patched to this day.

But they are not the one that made the game They just released it. All the Triangle Service games and Eschatos, Crimzon Clover is awesome ports.
So we should be happy they still put out the games.

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
I am way looking forward to playin' some DFK after work today. My close friend, whose main exposure to CAVE is from all the Namiki I listen to, got to play some with me when we picked it up last night. we stayed up late trying all the different modes, identifying DDP leimotifs in the music, pointing at score mechanics, and picking out ships that suited our fancy.
So far, my only 1cc is Mushi Futari 1.5 Black Label - Maniac. I have gotten really close to doing regular Futari 1.5's Maniac - my original goal this summer - but the runs I had where I was well set up going into Stage 5, I let my nerves get the best of me. That being said, I would love some recommendations on a mode for DFK! I'll be doing some reading on the Scoring threads, but suggestions are much appreciated.
DFK 1.5 / BL / BL Arrange seem to be the most popular modes?
Thanks for the thoughts!

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Black Label, BL arrange and 1.51 only drop your chain on really tight conditions like dying (really fuckin hard to die in 1.51 since bees give you bombs) and in black label youd have to die while you're in hyper modecul wrote:Which modes are the most permissive in term of chain conservation?
Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Just got home from work and tried BLA, there's definetely lots of slowdown when using shot+laser.

Am I the only one experiencing lots of tearing? Last night I did a lazy run on Novice and it showed a lot of it.Van_Artic wrote:1.5, 1.51 and BL are ok

Maybe there's a .ini fine in the dedicated steam app folder in which you can edit/activate vsync.d3vak wrote:Am I the only one experiencing lots of tearing? Last night I did a lazy run on Novice and it showed a lot of it.Van_Artic wrote:1.5, 1.51 and BL are ok
Otherwise try to force vsync using your gfx card's control panel, or I don't know, if you're under Win 7 just reactivate Aero (turn on transparencies, it's the same).

Anyway holy shit how i missed that lock-on sound from ketsui. Hopefully they'll get the slowdown fixed and i won't be leaving my seat in a year.
Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
I remember this code "+r_swapInterval 1" on Steam launch options would force v-sync on some games. Would that work for DFK?Xyga wrote:Maybe there's a .ini fine in the dedicated steam app folder in which you can edit/activate vsync.d3vak wrote:Am I the only one experiencing lots of tearing? Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
At the very least so far, concerning 1.5 it feels pretty accurate to the PCB maybe even more so than the 360 version. The 360 had inaccuracies with speeds associated with post-death animations on bosses and a minor slowdown inaccuracy before the stage 2 boss that steam version matches to arcade on the dot. I did have minor frame skips but I suspect that it's partly a result of my video card so I'm waiting until I upgrade soon before giving judgement on that.
I'll most likely be playing some more over the weekend to determine if I can call 1.5 a perfect port of arcade version. So far it seems to be the case but I need more time before I can say that it is.
Sadly I can't be of much use anywhere else in determining accuracy issues.

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Ive bitten and purchased this. Hopefully this turns out to be as good an effort as Mushi after the patches.
Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Hey I recorded the first stage of "Ketsu Mode" for the PC version for comparison purposes.

Please note this is my first time playing this mode ever and I have no idea what I am doing so I hope this is helpful...

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
So much fire over a port where the actual arcade modes seem decent enough. Suddenly everyone cares about console arranges, when for the past decade or so they were usually seen as a nice bonus.
Oh, but we all already had DFK on 360, you'll say. Right, so why did this thread get 10 pages before the port was ever out, while poor Blue Revolver only got 1? Maybe you guys have a problem.

In "Steam\steamapps\common\DoDonPachi Resurrection", open up the file "Daifukkatsu.ini" and add the lined3vak wrote:Am I the only one experiencing lots of tearing? Last night I did a lazy run on Novice and it showed a lot of it.
Vsync=1
I personally prefer tearing to input lag but if it's really distracting you that should sort it.

Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
Yeah, on vsync, most people prefer not to have it, as input lag is a big deal in shmups. As far as I know, adding the Vsync=1 in the ini works to turn it on if you really want it.
I'll test out with A+C on BLA. If I can get something easily repeatable (which I don't doubt I can) I can make a report to CAVE that is much easier.

Thank you both! I'll give that a try. I can enjoy the game anyway but just thought it was something I needed to point out; That said, I do prefer not having input lag.Yeah, on vsync, most people prefer not to have it, as input lag is a big deal in shmups. Re: DoDonPachi Resurrection - Steam Edition
when you see a tank enemy on the ground go above it, kill it with the C shot, that will give you a 10 box chain, after that you can start holding A+C and kill enemies with it; this should generate chips all over and slowing the game downNickPalmerDegica wrote: I'll test out with A+C on BLA. or you can just fight the stage 2 boss in training mode while holding A+C and admire how drunk the game gets

When rotating the screen to tate and enabling link rotation which is what everyone would do. The text of the front end is out of the frame so you cant really tell where the options are pointing to.
