Cave AOU Report

Post by GaijinPunch »

Cave has updated their AOU Show Page with some new pics, and a video clip (link at the very bottom). You can witness the debacle which is known as the Pink Sweets theme song.

Didn't notice this before, but two forum members are in one of the pics.

That's me and you! On Cave's site! Jeez.

I've got like half a gig of movies and pics on my hard drive right now. I've been meaning to upload them and make up some story but I am too busy buying games. Got Einhander and Philosoma today for 2,500 yen total, mint.

5th from the top. We are the tall baseball cap-wearing gaijin. Paul is wearing a green jacket and I am wearing a black one and holding a large white envelope.

Funny thing is, halfway down the page there is a picture of this French guy holding a rose. He lives in Lyon and has every Cave PCB from Donpachi to Ibara. He is now in Tokyo and thinking of buying Espgaluda II.

I think they like to put up pictures of foreigners, just like many western otaku sites like to put pictures of Japanese people.

Indeed, I am the one in the (I must admit) pretty fucking cool green jacket. Haven't worn that thing in 2 years.... damn hot weather every day.

icycalm: Kewl! I always thought you guys were asian and figured you might be the two asian dudes posing for the camera on the 8th row. The one with the dude on the right wearing the orange jumper.

Man.. that french guy must be loaded. All Cave PCB's... I wonder how many that makes?

Hope you get around to uploading some of your footage.

If he owns *every* PCB that would be 16 though people often don't count the puzzles and you don't need both DDP DOJ boards so thats 13 boards.

DonPachi, DodonPachi, Esprade, Dangun Feveron, Uo Poko, Guwange, Progear, DDP DOJ, DDP DOJ Black Label, Ketsui, Espgaluda, Mushimesama, Ibara, Musimetama, Espgaluda2, Ibara BL...

You could get all of those shipped for less than $10000 which is not that much money for a lifetimes of shooters (and some odd puzzle games).

Pink Sweets to come of course so approx $12000

I would bet that the puzzle games aside there are several members here that have every Cave shooter... I can think of two people in the UK straight away.

Nobody has every Cave shooter, if there's really only one copy of DDP Campaign Edition.

Good point... Although technically the owner of Campaign could have all the other boards too.

Here are some of my better pics from the AOU.

Pink Sweets is looking really cool, I will post impressions later. Can't wait to try it again. Cave had the best booth by far. You could really tell, that they actually give a shit about their games.
Triggerheart was damn weird, and actually I didn't really like it that much.

You see those "Concept-E" or maybe its "Concept-2" cabs running Shiki III? Interesting spearker configuration (4 of them!). Also looks like it could be a 16:9 tated display.

Yup, seen that elsewhere...I think it said the display is 16:9 LCD. The cab looks funky as all getout. It'll definitely take me some time to get used to it.

Geez guys....

Am I the only person who thinks that the little girl playing Exelica was the cuter scene? And not in any paedophilic way either?

She's playing Espgaluda II, not Exelica. But I agree with you there.

Here's my Japan Winter 2006 Report that covers quite a few things. A trip to Akihabara, AOU Show, and some brief thoughts on the Japanese countryside. Don't want to spoil the surprise, but I did get to meet a special someone at Akihabara.

There are some pics and videos from the AOU show at the end. Enjoy!

Nice! The part about your meeting with that Progear girl was really interesting. I wish I had been there.
