Shmupmeet last night, someone who had played a few Cave shmups before (Espgaluda, Esp.ra.de) but had never played Futari before was playing Futari BL Original (Another Ver). He'd managed to actually get all the way to Larsa even though he missed the stage 5 extend and had only gotten the first score extend. With some ridiculous dodging he gets to her final phase with like less than an inch of health, no lives or bombs left. Reminds me of the time I got Sonic 1. It was late at night and I was just trying it out, but I realized I was doing so well that I ended up beating the game, in half an hour, with all emeralds, on my very first time playing.

Not as big of a feat, but still.

Hey again, everyone, it's been some time!

Yeah, as of a few hours ago, I got my 1st 1cc of ESP Ra. De.! I used Yusuke Sagami for this one!

I didn't expect I'd get my 1st 1cc of ESP Ra. De. rather quickly (By the end of September, to boot!), since I only started work on this game rather recently (Like about a week ago or so), so that was really nice! Many of the things I practiced on worked out nicely in my 1st 1cc of ESP Ra. De., for the most part, to where I actually No Miss'd all the way up to the stage 5-2 boss herself in that same 1st 1cc of mines!

All in all, things went very well for ESP Ra. De.! Very pleased about that!

That's nice Purple, I also cleared Esp Ra.De. a couple weeks ago, it's not a terribly hard game but you need to reach the final boss with some resources.

Sexy Parodius 1CC on the first proper run of the day!

After figuring out some safe strats (playing the easier Stage 4, timing out the boss rush) and discovering the awesomeness of MAMBO, this game seemed easier than I first thought.

I don't think rank management helps a lot in this game as you just feel underpowered most of the time, plus you're going to have to reach full power at some point regardless.

Didn't you just last week sometime say you had just recently started playing? I've been playing DDP on and off for nearly a year and I've only managed a few 1-ALL shitclears. Usually, if I've managed to meet the criteria for loop 2, I end up becoming too cocksure and fail to complete the first loop.
Needless to say, well done!

I 1CC'd Bullet Soul without using bombs. Still lost almost all my lives in the final stage, though.

First CAVE clear! -- 1.5 Normal on the new steam port. Nothing much to say that hasn't been said about it before. Next I'll probably aim for a C-Power because the amount of autobombs I used during this clear makes me feel disgusted with myself.

Blue Revolver Hyper Mode 1CC. Awesome. I love that ranking system. But I definitely should try Parallel Mode.
Also Touhou 2 on livestream blind in one sitting. One hour for Hard, one for Lunatic, one for Extra. Default settings (3 lives, 3 bombs). It's fun to see how this game is so different.

Yep, Ura. I had a long +3000 hits chain on stage 3, that's where I got most of the points from.

I just recently got into shmups after buying Mushihimesama and Crimzon Clover on steam and I just managed to 1CC Mushihimesama on Novice Original Mode! Next step is doing a 1CC of normal mode I guess, wish me luck!

1cc'd Blue Revolver on hyper mode with Val.

My theory is that Val was a replicant.

Now that I think about it, the final boss theme reminds me of Erupter from Garegga in terms of how pounding and intense a climax it is. Sounds less evil and more pretty though.

Congrats! I also got recently into shmups and my first 1cc is Crimzon Clover in Novice mode, just 2 days ago!

My next step, however, is to become comfortable with 1cc'ing novice with the arcade stick I'm expecting to have in a few weeks, before I start attempting normal. Not sure if that's the right way to do it or not.
