Project S.H.M.O.O.P - Demo 2 (WIP)

Hey Shmups. I've been making a shmup for the better part of a year now, and the project is nearing completion. I've lurked this board for years, but I finally have something to show.

Project S.H.M.O.O.P. is a horizontal shmup that hearkens back to early and mid 90's shmups, mainly those popular on the Genesis and TG16.
Currently, the game features 3 (out of 5) levels, with 3 bosses each, and 2 playable ships with unique abilities.

The game started as a 'real' project with a team, but everyone else quit so I took up the reigns. Due to the game's stealy and vaguely legal nature, I'm releasing it as freeware when it's done. I'd love to hear from any artists or musicians if they are interested in helping.

Since the game is marching ever closer to being finished, I'd love to have some experts get a hold of this and give some feedback and thoughts on the difficulty. I can 1cc it, but that's probably from memorizing everything due to programing the whole game. Any feedback is appreciated, and I hope you enjoy.

Wow, this one's too hard for me. Could you make it so the easier difficulties, rather than giving you more lives, just made the bullets a bit slower?
I think I could have fun with this but currently I just feel like I'm being punished :D
