..just imagine if any horizontal shmup were supported on this monitor..
..defender with the whole level visible at once would be pretty kickass :D

You're arguing for a universe with fewer waffles in it. I'm prepared to call that cowardice.

Would it? I would go for a racing game with panoramic view, since this is the OT section I can actually say that.

Great find

Too wide for my tastes. I use a dual setup at work and that works great.

I think optimal would be 3 screens: 1 for coding, 1 for documentation, 1 for execution/remote.

They just won't spring for the extra monitor for me :)

I like how they have the quicklaunch icons and start menu only on the far left screen. Whoa man that's a lot of mousing. ;)

As long as we're talking about ridiculous monitor setups, I suppose I'd rather have two rows of three 20" monitors or so. That'd be more intuitive to me than having to rotate my chair by 45 degrees to see the monitors on either end.

Probably smarter to just buy 5 monitors and a good vid card. I've got users that have 4 24" 16:9 monitors (2 on top, 2 on bottom). No games though.

That sorta makes me wonder....what do enemies do when they're not on screen shooting at you? I mean, to have a completely visible level in a game....??

The only thing I can come up with is that the screens before you enter a certain area are as quiet as a mouse. Cause they won't open fire until you're in there.
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

someone should make a shmup with this kind of monitor setup in mind. imagine a whole level of enemies firing on you at once.

and for anyone getting prepped to say darius, i mean a good game. :P because that game is more boring than me, in the eyes of everyone i know.

According to the desktop in that picture, you'd have to wheel your chair over to the other side of the desk, just to check the time.

well in defender you can see in your radar enemies all the time, some are very busy hijacking little men from the ground..

I did play darius on 2 monitors, its nice except the transition from display to other, it is more practical to have many screens really together. Of course its too expensive for many.. I think there were also 3-screens and 4-screens

If memory serves right, I think X-Men (Arcade Final Fight Beat Em Up) featured 3 monitors.

But that 5-LCD display is one hell of a cool setup!
Imagine flipping that to play Ikaruga! ;)
Radiant Silvergun would also look cool, considering that it is all ready stretched to fit the whole horizontal plane.

Ninja Warriors was a 3 screen set up as well.

PS3 will support that monitor, because its the best console EVER!
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Probably drinking coffee, playing cards, and shooting...the breeze with each other. Hey, even invaders from outer space and such have union hours!

I'd like to see that. Like the ground enemies in Espgaluda... napping in sleeping bags at first, then as you get closer, they wake up, drink some coffee, play some cards and fire at you after some light exercise.

Something like that would be cool for an arena shooter. Robotron with even more robots!
Feedback will set you free.
