Israel has problems. But they are no worse than their neighbors.

If their neighbors had it their way, they would execute every living being in that country.

I don't support the violence that goes on there, so I have mixed opinions on the country. I think Maher sees it as the only country with rights and freedoms comparable to the Western world, and he looks past the violent shit that goes on there.

So Maher's support of Israel is the the sole reason you consider him anti-Liberal?

Maybe for Europe. Bill Maher has very similar views to the ones I am spouting.

And if anyone says he's not a liberal, they're idiots.

Why on Earth would I be tolerant of a culture that executes gays, treats women as second class citizens, has no religious freedoms, is incredibly anti-Semetic, still performs female genital mutilation, has honor killings and acid attacks...the list goes on and on. The Middle East is a fucking Hell hole to most Westerners.

For me, it's outrageous to consider myself a liberal and to be tolerant of something like this. If this was some sect of Christianity, it would be demonized consistently in the media.

Oh, and here's another one.

Dude, you're as bad as the gun nuts. Everytime a shooting happens you see more shit from them about "guns don't kill people", because they are afraid of losing their rights.

You come in here after every Islamic attack, and...you're simply being an apologist. More concerned about the POSSIBILITY of some Muslims not being let in the country or discriminated against, rather than the lives of the citizens of your own country.

That's your prerogative, but I find this attitude to be very dangerous. And I think the results are speaking for themselves.

I think this video by Kraut and Tea describes this situation very well.

I heard some pipe bombs went off in some dumpsters. No one was killed, from what I understand.

I'm sure we'll know more about it soon.

Has terrorism become so commonplace nobody even cares to update this thread anymore?

The last three terrorist attacks in the UK didn't even get a mention, but here's the latest on the latest one:

On the one hand I understand where you're coming from, and definitely hope that nobody on here was close enough to this to have somebody they care about involved, but another part of me says that if we take pains to make every attack a "stop the world" moment we're basically carrying out the last phase of the perpetrators' plan for them. It's a dilemma, to be sure...

I'm no fan of Khan's but really guys, context..

Anyway it seems like the big three religions, or at least Islam show no signs of slowing down or reducing numbers.

Do you think the world will ever move on? What could encourage this..
Banning religions or attacking them doesn't work. I remember reading in the bible about being the chosen people and all the sinners will persecute you etc etc.
Questioning or insulting people's faith gives them instant validation. "UNF i'm being persecuted, finally I can cum!! "

edit: clarity

The top and bottom of it: there will always be dickheads who fancy taking a few folks out for any reason that they can come up. Give them nothing.

Didn't Russia do something where they would arrest the family of a terrorist... and it kind of worked. It seems very hard line, but it's a threat isn't it. I doubt something like that could happen here but as I have a pretty low opinion of the average dicksplash I'd be fine with it.
Blinge wrote:Anyway it seems like the big three religions, or at least Islam show no signs of slowing down or reducing numbers.

No, because there's always a percentage of each generation that get indoctrinated into any religion by their parents. Also, there a countless people who "find" religion after living a screwed up life, and by default we are an irrational superstitious bunch.

I can't see an answer. The world is full of well educated religious people. Ok, they're not the ones blowing themselves up (edit: actually, sometimes they are) but even intelligent people have a way of sidestepping reason when it comes to belief.

Nothing to mention really, London is getting precisely the utopia it opted for so no real grounds to complain. Repeat after me diversity is strength, multikulti is good, your history is bad be ashamed, love beats all etc.

It's very easy to view things through this self masturbatory moral high ground western lens but the reality is not the one side killing festival you've been lead to believe. Palestinians endlessly attack Israel and would kill every last one given the chance, just because Israel has developed more infrastructure and means of advanced defense/offense doesn't make them the worst of 2 faulty parties.

Haha so much emotional volatility when proving that you don't have a single original reasoned thought in your head, it's all just buzzwords and notions you picked up from leftist propaganda and hivemind circles. I'm emotionally stable and psychologically well adjusted, you jelly?

You're focusing on a symptom, not a cause.

If you want to minimize the tribal aspects, stop reducing societies back to the tribal->feudal stage of development. If you want people to grip to other forms of denial to cope with death besides a holodeck heaven, just cure death. E z.
