Hi guys! I have a couple of questions I have a NEC xm29plus, and lately I started to arrange my setup with everything connected.
So far I got an extron PA250 and a extron VSS110. I built a custom VGA connector on each console, soldering the output to the VGA. Already got working a n64 (with internal LM1881 and AMP) plus I tested the VSS110 with the composite sync and it worked great too.
- For the snes I noticed the color were brighter than normal, is it because of the 220uf caps on the scart cable, or do I need to add resistors?
for the arcade side:
- the naomi worked great on the vga input, and also tried the JAMMA side from a capcom io it worked too.. but I had to lower the contrast half of the n64 because it was bleeding on the naomi, lowered and worked. Do I need to add resistor to the jamma line? also how would you measure the V on a RGB line? just like any other V source?. asking just in case lol...
I'm still not sure if the PA250 or the VSS110 will give me something special if I add an LM1881 to every console.. Any opinions?
thanks!
Hi, any XM29plus owners that can help?

I have a NEC and I have to tame the brightness of the SNES, PS1 and PS2. FWIWjuanmiglesias wrote:Hi guys! I have a couple of questions I have a NEC xm29plus, and lately I started to arrange my setup with everything connected.

(to do this I use an Extron interface, and I set the "Level" pot slightly lower than unity gain)

What extron model interface are you using?
Thanks

580xi.
But any Extron interface with a "Level" and "peak" pot will do. And if I remember well, there are a lot of them that do. Some have a screen which let you see the value at which the pot is set, and those are prpobably the ones to get. . Unfortunatetely, the 580xi is not one of those.
I set these to pots to unity gain for all my consoles, except the 3 I mentionned earlier, where I dim the level a bit and increase peak a bit. I also tweak the signal of the NESRGB a bit..

Re: Hi, any XM29plus owners that can help?
thanks for the tip!, I think the PA250 does exactly that.
btw, do you have a sega genesis connected to it? if you do, how did you manage the connection?, I did a custom vga (same pinout as any vga, and same used for my n64, RGB Sync and ground) - RGBs from the console, but didn't work, I use the VSS to strip the sync from the composite.. but the colors are wrong.. :/
