Small (old) trailer:

And now it's released:

Doing small caravan like games is actually really fun.
A few dozens are actually playing Älg Invaders, and for score. The facebook integration just shows the scores from their friends and I think that is part of why they're playing it.

Started on another one, this time in color and with more enemies and you can move in all directions.

And I have a third one lined up as well. The length of these games (both play and dev wise) keeps me interested to the end.

Did a quickie. Just for another notch in my belt. Will use the source as attachment to my CV, might need it really soon.

Endless caravan of single-type enemies that shoot more regularly as time goes by...yep, that's it.
And, yes, spaghetti-laser ftw!

Vid showing it's nothing special, but I kind of like it...

Thinking about it. Might bunch them together into a single package.
Next chew-sized game will be a cutie with chibis. \o/
I'm studying the-art-of-Perry for that one, so I can learn the ways of bold and colourful graphics. Of course without the skulls and spikes and stuff. :D

Great stuff! I can totally appreciate this sort of bite sized game, from both player and dev perspectives. 8)
The Invaders one especially has a charm to it, reminds me of Jeff Minter's Beast Invaders 2600 hack.

(I actually started on a Space Invaders/Galaxian kinda thing earlier this year, too... kinda should finish that.)

Thanks man!
Yeah, super nice from a dev perspective. The only-going-back-and-forth of the invader one seems to be the most attractive type (out of these two).
Got a request to do one where you just move the turret of the ship, ala video mode in the Attack from Mars pinball. Will try to finish that one next, as a follow up to the invaders one.
But I really want to start on the chibi one as well... :?

When it comes to turret shooters, I always think of Paratrooper and similar games. In the Win95 version I used to have, the soldiers made this quite satisfying 'splat' effect if you shot away their parachutes and let them hit the ground.... absolutely loved that.

Good luck with the chibi one. I have serious problems trying to do 'cute' stuff, personally. It usually just comes out looking weird and a bit creepy somewhat like an odd old Amiga platformer.

Your gfx are so bold and meaty (the only way I can describe it) and I'm doing my best to try and learn that. My gfx always becomes flat and boring.
I commissioned a random deviantarter to do the chibi designs for me as inspiration. I haven't received it yet so I "can't" start... :D

Edit:
And here's the turret shooter, named Bubble Shmup...
Mixed photo, vector and pixel art ftw! :?

Thanks.;) I wouldn't sweat it about 'catching up', Broken Pearl and TTS look great (and are still fun as shit, was playing BP just yesterday.)

Can't go wrong with a good bubble blasting game either, I think that one might be my favorite of the three. All it needs is a little sequence where Bub and Bob get strapped into their new weapon of bubble mass destruction while intense music plays.

I kind of like BP myself and plays it every now and than. Which is not happening to any other of my games... :)

Haven't started on the chibi game yet, the commissioned chibis haven't been done yet.
Also, I started on a spy hunter kind of game, where a collegue of mine is doing the sprites, backgrounds and the car "physics" implementation. Going to be bonkers!

So, being impatient, I need to do something by myself again and settled for a new zombie game! (the other zombie game I'm doing is going to take even more years...since it's a collab with another graphics guy)
But this zombie game is already kind of fun to play (a bit), actually, and is a bit more ambitious that the other caravan attempts.

Looks really cool... the little falling animation is definitely a nice touch. Gotta love the versatility of zombies as fun cannon fodder despite how overused they are in games.

I'm happy to hear the other zombie game is still in the works, too (if still a long ways off.)

It is kind of fun, actually, and the size of it is growing...to the point that it's not bite sized anymore. Neither for player nor developer...

Implemented a shop:
Image

The dogs serve as satellites and have their own firing type.
The amulet isn't implemented yet, and I have no idea what to do with it...thought it would act as as zombie-repellent, or something. But I haven't decided yet.
Save, yes...there is a save...of all things. :) If you buy the "save the progress" item you'll miss a hefty no-save bonus.

There is 28 stages in there now. In the process of switching graphics set.
I do feel a bit limited by the zombie-theme...I can't have cool turrets at the top of the buildings, for instance. But I will figure out how to get stuck zombies in pipes firing, or something.

The game need a few more enemy bullet types as well.

Enjoying myself, and that is what matters. :D
