We haven't gotten everything they've done, and they sometimes release stuff in different orders. Trying to predict if/when we get stuff is difficult at best. So, the way these have been going, It'll be anywhere from 3-6 months before we get it, assuming we do.

I basically gave up on that and have just been buying the Japanese versions. Once you learn the menus, they're pretty easy to work with.

What's everyone's favorite PS4 arcade stick at this point?

I've had my eye on two PS4 sticks:

[PS4 / PS3 / PC compatible] Real Arcade Pro.V HAYABUSA - From what I can see, this is the only PS4 stick across all brands that has the touch pad and turbos. In my opinion the only reason to buy a whole new PS4 stick instead of buying an adapter or doing some sort of pad hack is for touch pad compatibility. It's already been shown that some PS4 fighting games require the touchpad for certain functions and they didn't let you remap for that. Also note that the earlier PS4 sticks by Hori had lag (almost 1 frame), but the newer Hori sticks supposedly don't have that problem, so the one I linked is the one you want!

Mad Catz Street Fighter V Arcade FightStick TE2+ for PlayStation4 and PlayStation3 - More expensive, and no turbos, but very low lag and plenty of wrist space; something none of the Hori sticks have. I think the mounting bracket allows for more lever options too; I don't know how I'd mount my Seimitsu LS-32 or Sanwa JLW (both of which require S-plates to mount properly) on anything but the Mad Catz sticks I currently have.

As for Gradius II, I actually bought a second PSPgo and hacked a Sixaxis controller to play Gradius Collection with an arcade stick:

http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/ ... t_10714857

With component cables, the PSPgo dock for charging, and a DVDO Edge to (1) zoom in the shrunken PSP video output and (2) change the resolution to 480p for proper scanline width with my T-SLG scanline generator (okay, so I need an HDfury for all this too), I'm sitting pretty...

I also hope this release for regions outside Japan. Gradius II is a fantastic game and an eternal classic!

It would be very interesting Konami launch a "Gradius Ultimate Collection" in HD format containing Gradius I, II, III, IV, Gaiden, Galaxies, Rebirth and V for PC Steam and also for PS4 and Xbox One.

Please Konami, Listen...

Considering Konami these days, they'd barely make a Gradius pachinko.

Is this a straight arcade port or the game from the PS1 Deluxe Pack? I guess they're both straight ports, but PS1 has high score saving and wait mode options.

This had a lot of dip switch options but I couldn't read them unfortunately. This does have Wait options, hi score mode, both versions of the game and save states.

It will come over. The trophies are in English and listed as Gradius II without the Gofer no Yabou subtitles.

What do you mean by Hi Score mode? I know the Salamander port had an underwhelming Caravan mode - is it the same kind of thing in Gradius II?

That's an album. It does have V's music, and everything else.

The only thing it doesn't have is anything from the Salamander games, which were released in this album instead.

I noticed today that this is now available on the US PSN store. How is the emulation quality on these Arcade Archives titles? Have the scanline options been done properly? This is by far the best of the Gradius games, so might pick it up if it's decently ported/emulated.

@bcass

The US version apparently has 3 Japanese versions and 2 versions of Vulcan Venture. Not sure what that means but it's on the store description.

As for it being a solid port. I'm sure the purist will crucify it but I've one CC'd this and Gradius 1 on the Arcade Archives ports. If the input lag was that severe, I probably wouldn't have done it.

Honestly I spent more on my dinner than I did on the game. It's good enough for me. Plus I have two copies of the PC Engine port digitally so that makes me rest easy. I kinda prefer that version honestly over the default arcade Difficult mode.is

Gradius pachinko came out in 2009 if I recall. It was called Gradius: The Slot.

Thanks for the info. I'm particularly sensitive to ports of this game because I used to play it every day in my local arcade when it was first released. I regard the PC Engine and X68000 ports to be really good. The PSP port is complete trash.
