I just found out I'm going to have an aide in all of my classes this year due to things I did right before summer break. Goodbye, any chance of making friends

Man, what did you do?

You need to find out if your wrangler plays video games so you can get them to post here.

I trashed a conference room. Same thing that got me community service. Also yelled at my History class last March or something that they were "SJW faggots" while leaving the classroom when I was still mad over getting in trouble over calmly saying people were overreacting to the "You killed Jesus" thing. Other stuff.

When I googled "housemaster" (to make sure that my school showed up so you people could learn what the hell a housemaster is if anyone even gave a fuck), I found out why they changed the name to "dean":

No, I actually was in control the whole time. I just did it because I figured I had nothing to lose because I did something else before it (outside of school, but involving another student and they found out).

It's not that you've done stupid, antisocial, destructive shit. I know people who fucked up like you in their teenage years but managed to get their act together before the big one eight forced them to trade up from a guidance counselor to a parole officer. It's your complete lack of reflection or remorse that lowers my opinion of you.

I think it was Blinge who earlier posted about your cyclical posting habits. First you admit to something terrible that's fucked up your life. Then people offer helpful advice to improve your situation. Then you brush it off like, "yeah, yeah, I'm a teenager, I figured everything out already." Then people on the forum start getting hostile because they know from their own experience being a teen that you DON'T have everything figured out, plus now you're being a dick to those who tried to help. Then you rend your garments and gnash your teeth about how you wish you never posted this in the first place and nobody will ever love you ever. Then you delete the posts. Then you come back a couple weeks later and start the whole cycle over again, proving you didn't learn a goddamn thing after all.

Are you overcompensating for something with all this SJW hate? Because I gotta be honest you're coming across less like a man who seeks solutions to his problems, and more like an unstable codependent girlfriend who gets off on manufactured drama.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Most (if not all) of the advice was because I got was just to make friends. That's actually one of the issues I have (due to social anxiety because I'm afraid people think I'm autistic), so I basically receive advice that's the very challenge I want to overcome.

And yeah, I know what I do is fucked up. I'm trying to fix that outside of the message board. I've improved IRL. I used to get in fights with my parents, but I don't anymore. It's pretty much just school that's the issue, and I've learned not to do what I did earlier that made me end up with an aide.

It's actually sorta not an aide, but someone in the room observing me in all my classes, and after a month or so they'll discuss whether I actually need it.

I'm done with deleting posts, by the way.

Yeah, good point. It's still easier to just type something than actually doing it, though. I realized that was a retarded idea.

Retarded ideas like that should be aborted in your thought process before your next breath, let alone after you type it all out and hit the Submit button.
I'd probably be in juvie if I gave in to my impulses, as everyone at some point should realize that a lot of things in this world are not worth getting worked up about.

If you are stuck in a cycle of repeating the same mistakes and promising to not do it next time, only for it to happen again in next week's episode, it'd be a better idea to not try at all, sit back, and observe. Much like how instead of repeatedly trying to tackle a stage only to perform worse and worse, taking a break lets you clear your mind and see things differently. Instead of participating and messing everything up, observe how other people act and behave. Instead of brute-forcing a solution to your problems, you can always work your way around them (I hear alcohol temporarily cures Aspergers).

But there can be a lot of good reasons for this. :) For example calling Final Fantasy 6 FF3 would be a lot more confusing when there's already another FF3. The Makaimura series also makes more sense in the Japanese titles, and they don't make people think Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts is just a SNES version of Ghouls 'n Ghosts. DDP Daifukkatsu being known as such among fans long before it got its English title. The two first Seiken Densetsu games having completely unrelated titles in the west and the last one not being released in the west at all. Etc. etc.

But I'm thinking you have specific examples in mind, and now I'm curious which.

I must do it at least 5-10 times a day at home and at work.

Sure. But, you can always put an U, E, or J in parenthesis after the first three Final Fantasy games for disambiguation. There's no need to immediately jump into the Japanese number system. It's pretentious.

Calling Space Megaforce "Super Aleste" doesn't make sense. It's only ok to say Rockman if the Megaman game didn't come out in the west.

The games have western names and you live in the west.

That leads to the next annoying person on my list: the person that insists on only buying imports--and won't shut up about it. Yes. There's a cross in your Castlevania game. Yay.

I get imports when I don't have a domestic alternative. I'm always thinking "I see the imports. I saw them last time I was around. Will you please stfu?"

"Super Aleste" marks it as an Aleste game proper, though. In a similar vein, referring to Rekka no Ken as just "Fire Emblem" gives no indication of there having been six other games before it.

'Mike Bison' is a more fitting name for a boxer parodying Mike Tyson than 'Balrog'*, and 'Rockman' is more appropriate for the rock-paper-scissors nature of the gameplay than "Mega Man". The name 'Mash' is more in line with that character's fighting game moveset than 'Sabin', and of course there's the whole deal with Final Fantasy and Wonder Boy. Using the Japanese names for Sega's Shinobi series also sidesteps the question of which Shinobi was "Shinobi II" while making it clear that the Super Shinobi titles on the Mega Drive were their own thing.

I believe there is also one instance of a spin-off being marketed stateside as a proper sequel despite significant differences in gameplay, though I can't recall what it was. It wasn't Wanderers from Ys. (EDIT: I remember now. It was Ryuuko no Ken Gaiden, which was called Art of Fighting 3 in the U. S.)

But yeah, icycalm is weird for insisting on it. (No sarcasm intended.)

Memorizing Japanese gaming trivia and constantly cramming it down other people's throats is annoying as hell.

Even worse, all the naming anomolies are common knowledge now. It's not special; it's annoying.

I dunno, for FF, now that each of the entries has been released under their original name in the west, there's no point in using the overlapping US names. Everyone knows what FF6 is. Saying FF3 is just confusing now. Nothing pretentious about it.

and in a lot of cases, there are enough mechanical differences in games [eg, Streets of Rage 3 vs Bare Knuckle 3] that going by the JP name is important for disambiguation
Most of the time, I'll just go by the name of whatever I've played the most, so US names.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Plenty of people still refer to the sixth Final Fantasy as FF3, even on gaming forums, and don't realize the names were changed. Of course, whether those people are worth consideration is another matter.

Using the Japanese titles shouldn't be a requirement or anything - I have no issues with anyone calling the second arcade TwinBee "Bells & Whistles" or the first original console game as "Stinger". I'm just trying to point out how they can be more clear at times.
