I just got a sony BVM-D32 and a BKM-10R to control it. But I can't get them to talk to each other. I'm hoping somebody here can help.
I'm connecting the BKM to the BVM with a 9-pin d-sub straight through cable
I power on the BVM and it displays 'initializing' in white. Then it displays 'contrast min' in green. Then nothing.
Meanwhile on the BKM several LED's light up (so I know it is getting power). But none of the buttons seems to do anything.
Picture of BKM's LED's (is it possible to attach pictures on this board?)
Am I missing some initializing step to get these two things to talk to each other? If one or the other is busted how can I tell? Or maybe I'm using the wrong serial cable?

Re: help with first time sony BVM setup
FYI, the issue turned out to be a defective BKM-10R control unit. I got a different one from ebay and it fired up no problem.
