Bernie Worrell, keyboardist and moog man of Parliament/Funkadelic has died aged 72. He was fucking great, saw him live a few years ago.

I know I'm late to this, but...maybe so, maybe not exactly. I read two things: As the news broke, it was blamed on a known software defect in vehicles under a recall - a recall which didn't roll out soon enough to prevent this and some other accidents (all the others are non-fatal, thankfully). Now there's a $5M lawsuit against the company which alleges known problems with the shifter.Mortificator wrote:Reports are that he put his jeep in neutral on an incline, got out, and was crushed when it rolled on him. Damn.
It's very likely Mr. Yelchin tried to put the car in park, not neutral, but wasn't able to tell from the shifter. I'm not exactly sure how the software update figures into this.
Jeez, it's sad to think of the people who were at the Grauman's ST premiere just a few years ago who are no longer with us, and hope this is the last one for a while. But it makes me thankful to have lived just a few years more than Yelchin made it. But it is really a complete freak accident: Not just that he's a celebrity, but that he actually was killed by this.
Speaking of music legends, Ralph Stanley has died:

Carlo Pedersoli, aka Bud Spencer, died at 86 in Rome. He was my grandfather's favourite "beat the crap out of everyone" actor.

I feel slimy posting about Miss Cleo without mentioning the passing of Elie Weisel up above.
Well, anyhow, Night was a formative reading experience for Ing as a young lad, reading it all the way back in 8th grade, and its mixture of fatalistic nihilism mixed with the struggle for survival and for humanity has long remained with me. I wonder how many people read Weisel's other works. I admit to only reading Dawn, which I had thought was a direct sequel (it... isn't?), and was struck by the great deal of moral ambiguity it displayed, especially considering the novel's Israeli Jewish perspective. He will be missed.

I remember many a time catching Miss Cleo on TV commercials as a kid. While I always laughed at the silliness of this Jamaican lady promising to read my future over the phone, again and again, it's sad that she died so young!

Jon McLaughlin.
Used to watch his show of people yelling at each other back in the mid 2000's.
As you might have surmised, I am a fan of people yelling at each other. A downer, this is.

Arnold Palmer has died today. What a way to go 2016! Now nobody will see the legend golf or make his signature drink.
