Problems with Sega Saturn Sync and Extron Hardware

Post by HandOfIke »

Hi,

I have recently been running a system successful with an Extron Crosspoint sending various Consoles to a BVM monitor this included a Sega Saturn. The crosspoint I was using had an electrical issue and I had to replace it, now I can't get the Saturn signal to sync through it, if I connect my Saturn to the BVM directly things are fine so something is happening to the sync in the new Crosspoint. I have a female scart connector going to the Crosspoint with BNC connections that has makes the sync CSYNC so the sync signal coming from the Saturn is fine (as it is able to display to the BVM).

The only difference I can tell is that my previous Crosspoint had ADSP and the Crosspoint I have now has DSVP. I can go pick up another Crosspoint that on it's front doesn't list that it has either ADSP or DSVP but I think this might have the same outcome.

Can someone tell me what is going on with the Extron and what I would need to do to get a CSYNC saturn through it and to display.

Many thanks

Well it turns out that there was a short in the SCART from the Saturn... have fixed it for now and my DSVP Crosspoint is just the same as my old ADSP....

Will have to go digging around to see what the differences between the two are...
