Question about XRGB-3 Upscan Converter

Post by dsquared2 »

I just bought the xrgb-3 and it works fine for my console but I don't know why today, I turn on console, all graphic became red , I tried to adjust color setting on my XRGB-3 , it still remains unchanged, then I tried to play on TV directly without my XRGB-3, it works well. I would like to ask if I reset the XRGB-3, it will solve this problem? Thanks.

It won't hurt to try!

It sounds like the XRGB-3 is only on RED or seeing RED on the input.

Dodgy connector, lead or colour gain issue perhaps?

What lead you using? SCART or component?

It worked fine for few days but the problem started from yesterday.

I'm using 21 pins RGB input and Analog output, the graphics of the games are Red color when I use XRGB-3 and I tried to play on TV without XRGB-3, the color of game is normal. I have no idea what is the problem. Thanks.

Mine looks like that if I turn the green gain (under the picture menu, or 画質調整 if you're using Japanese firmware) all the way to 0. Double check that your green gain/level is set to the same value as the red and blue. If that doesn't help, maybe try setting all the picture menu settings to their defaults; see http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/XRGB ... ettings.29.

When you play on your TV without the XRGB-3, are you using the same RGB cable that results in the overly-red picture when used with the XRGB-3? If not, maybe there's something wrong with the RGB cable.

I've heard of XRGBs with fried RGB inputs (usually caused by using a European SCART cable instead of a Japanese RGB cable), though I'm not sure what the end result of such frying looks like... Hopefully this isn't your problem!

Do you use a JP-EU Scart adapter before the XRGB ? If yes, I would say that one of the color lines (green) has become lose and is causing the tint.

My 21 pins RGB Cable is Japanese Version because I bought my Sigma Raijin Supergun from Japan. I got two 21 pins Japanese RGB Cable, one is for my Raijin Supergun and other one is for my Vega 9000DX Supergun. I tried these two cables to my XRGB-3, both of them are same result so that the problem should not cause by RGB Cables and also, my XRGB-3 works fine when I use this Cable before, this graphics' problem just started few days ago. I tried to use composite input to my XRGB-3 but it remains unchanged. Thanks.

1) Power off XRGB-3 (STANDBY)

2) Press and hold the "MENU" and "OK" buttons, while keeping them held down, press the "Power" button

3) You must keep holding the three buttons for a few seconds, until the activity lights flicker

4) release all buttons

Yes, I have reset the XRGB.-3 but it does not work. Thanks.

Have you a console to try and possibly another screen?

Have you tried another DSUB15 cable to your TV?

I just turned on the console and XRGB-3, it works fine, I don't know why, I did nothing. It is so strange. Thank for your helping.

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I just got an used XRGB-3 from Japan, at first I only got a black screen, but the OSD said that it had synced to 15kHz.. After some more trying i got a picture but its red, green and blue are missing.
I've hooked it up with VGA-out to an SGI(Sony) GDM-FW9011.
A Sega Megadrive is connected to VGA-in (D2) via Sync Strike with RGB cable (and I have tested the cable on a CRT-tv and it works)
Im getting the same result with a PS1 on the RGB-21 input on the front.
I've tried resetting the unit, even tried to reflash the firmware with no results..
If I go in the picture menu and turn the RED to 0 the picture is completly black.

I opened the unit and inside the boards werent properly connected together (because of shipping I guess). I reconnected them, and since then the XRGB-3 has worked perfectly.
