I read these Polls at gamefaqs concerning negative rumors about the PS-3?
I'm at a remote part on an island, so instant, high-speed Internet access, is not an option at the moment...
So, what are these rumors excactly?
How do you feel about all of the recent negative rumors about the PlayStation 3?
Apparently the Blu-Ray copy protection standard for all Blu-Ray devices has not been agreed upon yet, and before this is decided, no PS3s can be manufactured (otherwise they wouldn't be able to play Blu-Ray movies later).
According to Kikizo's report -- which we're by no means endorsing -- there's apparently not enough room for a 2.5-inch drive in the PlayStation 3 mockup box they've been showing off all over the world (the question of the internal drive certainly does keep getting raised), that the PlayStation 3 is "a machine barely superior to Xbox 360," and that launch titles will look something akin to "nice Xbox 360 material." No, there's no mention of their Xbox Live killer, either -- so who do you trust at this point? Is it ok if we just say nobody and leave it at that?
Personally I wouldn't care less about the HD or if it's really 2X more powerful than the 360.
And is that Blu-ray DVD realy needed for extreme gaming expreriences?

Well, assuming the launch is still planned for later this year I doubt the pending agreement on AACS/BD+ will hold the PS3 back. There's much more that's breathing down the neck of that council than just the PS3. The launch of two entire formats depends on them coming to terms, as early as this spring. There won't be any HD-DVD or Blu-Ray players without this and the community is so set on launching in March that they're contemplating players with a provisory implementations os the protection just to get the hardware out. Next meeting is Feb. 23/4 I believe.
As for the rest, speculation is a waste of time. At best, you're comparing marketing hogwash in an attempt to see where there's nothing to be seen. Yet. Without real life facts, bullshit has a way of multiplying like rabbits. Ban it from your thoughts until you see actual games.
