the same way you remove the cart slot. you drill em out.
sometimes its not easy. they tend to spin.

Ah man I don't have my drill at the moment....
Would it be easier to grind the top of them off with a dremel?

Did they change things up or something? I haven't had to do anything with those rivets on a Genesis model 1 in order to remove the heatsink - It was just a matter of removing the screws from the voltage regulators and then one or two on the sides.

All the Genesis ive seen just have screws holding the heatsink.
But i Have had to replace A cart slot with broken pins in it before and they are held in with rivets as well as screws.
the reason i went through the trouble is i wanted to replace the slot in an Early Va3 console that was definately worth saving.
I took the slot from a Va6.8.

Managed to get rid of the rivets by drilling them out using my dremel. Wasn't very hard actually...

thats good to hear. When you put it back together you can probably just use a nut and bolt.

there was already 2 screws to hold the heatsink down, the rivets were pretty much redundant.
