Genesis 2 Power Supply Question

Does the Genesis Model 2, and the Japanese Mega Drive 2 use the same power supply? Will it damage either system if I use one with the other?

i looked up the specs and they should be the same. 10v @ 0.85a.

I dont own a megadrive 2 but i do have a megadrive model 1 and it definately uses the same supply as a genesis model 1.
