Arcade CD Artwork

Post by M0nk3y »

Just a thought that occured to me: Do arcade games that come on disk (say, Naomi GDs) have any artwork?

It's not like they're sitting on a shelf on display. So are the CDs/cases blank with just the game/system name, or do they make an effort and put artwork on?

Thought I'd ask here as I'm sure some of you guys must have Naomis for the shmups?

There are a few at http://www.sega-naomi.com/software.htm in the gd-rom section. I've only looked through a few, but not a single one had any more than the game title to identify it.

Can't say I can recall GD-ROM's having art (they come in fogged DVD cases). CPSIII CD's have art, though :D

the System 246 DVDs are also plain, with just the game titles on them (though I'm not sure if there were any shmups released on this hardware).

Naomi GDs come in a special cd case with an ugly looking red GD, an IC, a piece of foam to hold the GD and a manual. Still, they don't look bad in a bookcase, especialy not if you make an obi, or spine card for them.
