Tragic. Don't they got any good games for slot or tray over there in Japan?

Pa
Yes of course, I have many games that are way better than these two. Those were just the last I was playing, and that's what this thread is about, no?

And Snatcher Pilot Disk is awesome, if you're a Snatcher fan, since it has the sound test.

Finally just started the PCE CD thread at Fanitsu. I only have a couple dozen keepers because I tend to focus more on the collecting of hu cards. And really the CD portion of the system just doesn't have near the volume of sweet action titles because most developers had no idea what they were doing with the medium (if I recall correctly, the "dating sim" was invented on the PCE CD platform). I expect other users will have awesome lists of their own to add to the thread. That should be good since we always focus on quality action gaming over at the FP. Here ya go: http://japjac.proboards58.com/index.cgi ... 1140248897

Also, Kiaiden 00 is in my tray right now.

Interesting list, Pa. And your avatar at that forum is very nice. I guess you only show us your ugly side.

The list will grow as well. When I visit with Paleface tomorrow I'm going to ask to go through all of his. He definitely has quite a few that I don't as his PCE CD library is "complete" (meaning that he has already found every single game he wants). Also, dcharlie is likely to have every CD action game ever so hopefully he'll post as well.

My mom says I don't have an ugly side.

Wow, using a PCE thread to not only bash a DS game but to also mention that you're a big boy now who smokes weed. So... Dangerous!

This guy is good. I nominate him for poster of the year.

Currently in my Hu-Card slot: Dead Moon. Good shmup, paralax scrolling (very impressive for being a Hu-card) and hardly known. Later levels are difficult.
Before that: Double Rings (aka W-Ring) by Naxat. Gradius-like graphics, a bit on the easy side (haven't managed to find all the secret levels yet).

Devil's Crush is by Technosoft. I'm actually not sure which is better but I prefer the music/sfx in the Genesis version definitely.

Genesis port Devil Crash MD/Dragon's Fury has Technosoft involvement. Original game Devil Crash/Devil's Crush is Naxat all the way. Both are some quality goods, although I've got a slight preference for the PCE/TG16 version for gameplay.

I bought the Genesis version, Dragon's Fury, just to save money, but in the end it's also more convenient, as my Genesis is more likely to be hooked up at any given time. I don't play my PCE games all that much.

I really love Alien Crush too, btw. I'm starting to favor Devil's Crush, but at first I liked Alien Crush a bit better because the entire top table or bottom table is in view all at once.

Speaking of the PCE Devil's Crush: It's true the music ain't so hot, I am interested to hear/play the MD version now. When I play DC I usually I throw on some Autechre, Two Lone Swordsmen, or other brain dance stuff. Seems to go well with it. Ken Ishii too.

In the CD tray: Now I am trying to beat Gate of Thunder on Hard. Prettry damn fun Hori, My favorite next to Border Down (Now, that is a damn fine Shmup soundtrack!)

Well, they're a whole lot more 'modern' but I'd certainly nominate Flipnic and Akira Psychoball as better pinball games... on weed.

Necronomicon on Saturn may be the only P'ball sim better than Devil's Crash.

It's all medieval/satanist themed as well. :D

Is Necronomicon the same as Last Gladiator? I believe so. That game definitely deserves the title "sim," as the difficulty is on a par with real pinball. I suck at it so far, but I really like how realistic and fast-paced it is.

Nope, not the same. Both games are pure pinball gold though.

You'll definitely be glad you did :)

Also, for those interested, I added another 15 or so games to my PCE CD list over at TFP.

Definitely a Krikzz Turbo Everdrive Pro nowadays, especially with the easy of playing those cool CD-Rom2, Super CD-Rom2 & Arcade CD-Rom2 based games without the need for an actual CD-Rom drive + EDFX add-on.

Galaga 88 sits in it almost exclusively.
