Question about CRT TV's displaying a full 320 x 240p image

So I picked up a Sony KV300 recently and as I try to adjust the geometry using the 240p Test Suite I noticed that it's not displaying a full 240 vertical lines. Whenever I bring down the image it displays this flickering horizontal line and cuts off a good 5 -6 lines. I was wondering if this is a defect with the TV or if this is a limitation with CRT TV's?
