Japanese Dreamcast GD Replacement

Sometime last fall I figured out that the laser in my DC was making contact with the games leaving saturn rings on the around the far edges.

A friend of mine ordered 3 different lasers and can't get any of them to work. My guess is they are all Yamaha/Samsung and my DC is the opposite, but I'm not sure.

Can this be fixed and if so what drive do I need to buy?

I bought my DC in July of 99'.

it sounds like your GD spindle is pushed down more than it should be, or bent.

I have a gd unit I can send you if you cover the postage. I took it out when I fitted my gdemu

If this is still on the table I may be interested. Is it a Samsung or a Yamaha?
