This is how these people work, they raid the Circuit City/Best Buy almost every game is $5 sales to get as many copies as possible of whatever somewhat uncommon/unpopular games exist that the store as a billion copies of and then they act like the found the damn holy grail.
I'll never forget, before Digaea's reprinting, Circuit City had the first sale of 2004 of this kind, there were like two hundred seperate auctions for Disgaea sealed for $80. The game so rare that there were a million billion auctions for it up at any given time.
So stupid.
I tried to see if I could get a good deal on something or other at the Circuit City a few months ago, I showed up like ten minutes after they opened and some dumb ass was already walking out with literally three hundred games. What the hell?
He ended up trading in half of them for like $1 each at my store a month later though.
To be more on topic, it's a shame how people will ALWAYS fall for something being "rare" if it's even remotely difficult to get. It's kind of discouraging as a collector too to see people go berserk over getting some game that's supposedly impossible to find just because you can't just walk into a Gamestop/EB and buy it sealed. I gotta listen to people brag to me about how they got Oni on the PS2 and how rare it is or how they "tracked down" a copy of Shadow Hearts: Covenant.

For newer games, eBay really isn't worth looking at anymore. Too many "power sellers" with 1 stock photo and $7.99 shipping. If it's not one of the eBay business types it's someone without the game case, posing the disc/cartridge on a dirty floor. It's just ridiculous trying to wade through the trash. In conclusion, most people on eBay deserve a punch in the mouth.

Gamestop does this shit, which is just another reason why I hate them. They open all of their games, and sell them as "new". It always seems that they only have "one last copy", and it's opened heh.undamned wrote:I guess my point wasn't so much that he's got a jacked up price, but that "PLAYED ONLY ONCE" != "BRAND NEW!!!" Either it's new sealed or used and mint condtion. There is no such thing as used and new at the same time.

Nah, I like the grappling. I could take him down, sit on him and spit in his eye but he'd have to insult my mother or one of my dogs for something like that to happen.captain ahar wrote:or maybe you can run off and punch that seller in the face! ^_^
Anyways, here's a really sweet one I saw yesterday: http://cgi.ebay.com/Metal-Warriors-SNES ... dZViewItem

That is similar to what I did when GC Choas Field just came out, I bought 24 copies for $52 each...Neo Rasa wrote:I'll never forget, before Digaea's reprinting, Circuit City had the first sale of 2004 of this kind, there were like two hundred seperate auctions for Disgaea sealed for $80. End up selling most of them at $20 somthing, I still have two extra copy to go. Anyone interested?

What is the trade in value of a sealed Japanese copy of Chaos Field at your store?Neo Rasa wrote:He ended up trading in half of them for like $1 each at my store a month later though.

Well sometime one could make $3 to 8 for selling Japanese games without forgrin release at eBay...Neo Rasa wrote:To be more on topic, it's a shame how people will ALWAYS fall for something being "rare" if it's even remotely difficult to get. But well the stock is going very slow and the price fall faster than you could sell your stock...
That is...
(1) If you could only sell a few copies of a game, you could only bought your stock at retail, and you earn very little. (Net profit $2 to 4 per copy)
(2) If you want to bought you stock cheap, you have to bought it from the whole seller. But then the price of the game would fall faster than you could sell.
It is not a good business to sell at eBay, unless you are using it as an alternative channel to sell you stock.

IF it is DC, he could still make money on that. GC version of shmups worth nothing, since...Neo Rasa wrote:He bough seventy-four copies of Dreamcast Ikaruga and boasted heavily about this.
it there is too few shmups released on that console
=> thus very few shmuppers have it
=> demand of shmup games is low for GC
=> GC shmup titles won't sell.
For DC, it is another story.
