I have been looking for a way to connect my ps2 and wii to a vga pc crt monitor i've got recently (I know it is not the same thing as a crt tv, but I imagine at least 3d 480p games would look pretty good on it) and came across this:
http://pt.aliexpress.com/item/Free-ship ... rue#extend
It seems to be called LKV7600 and is made by a chinese company called Lenkeng. It looks like it would make the video conversion, but I would like to know how it would handle 240p games like the ones on the ps1 and on the wii's virtual console. It says that it can handle 640x480 as a minimum resolution, but I know that 240p is not considered a "official" resolution, so I wonder if it is capable of maintaining the games original resolution. There is also the matter that it is converting interlaced a video signal to a progressive one (in the case of 480i games), so I wonder if it does a good job at deinterlacing the image.
Does anyone have any experience with this thing?
Thanks!

This is exactly the same as the monoprice component to VGA converter. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7113
Keep in mind this is a scaler so there will be some lag, although I hear it's not too bad. A friend of mine uses one for capturing his PSP through a VGA capture.
Why not just wait for Beharbros Garo to come out? It's supposed to be released in the next week or two and it's a superior device.

First of all, for PS2, all you need to do is set it to RGB mode and it will work with a lot of PC CRT's at 480p, no transcoding required. As long as the monitor accepts Sync-on-Green. All Sony monitors do, and quite a few Mitsubishi and Samsung's do. Plus there are tons of Dell an HP monitors that use.
But for your Wii, I wouldn't recommend anything like the adapter you're linking that scales the image. Instead, I'd either get an Audio Authority 9A62/9A65, the Crescendo Systems RTC2200 or the OSSC. I may be willing to sell my RTC2200 for significant cash.

Didn't knew about the Garo, but it looks excellent! Too bad it will probably be like, twice the price. I'm Brazilian, so 60 dollars translates to a little over 210 bucks for me. Well, at least the shipping is free.
I think I'll stick to playing 2d games on the pc with emulators, but I may get the LKV7600 for 3d 480i/p games still, since it won't have to do any scaling with that.
I've checked the stuff you recommended BazookaBen, but yeah, to expensive for me. I would likely have to pay three quarters of my salary just to get one the converters you recommended.

I don't really want to make a recommendation on a product that I know nothing about. If you're on a budget then I would do some more digging to find out how good that product is. I wouldn't take a chance on it until you know for sure.
