Yea, they exist. I believe they start at around UP172... You can also look for the ring vs dots at the expansion port.

ring vs dots doesnt always work. i had one snes that was an apu that had the ring.

Cool. Managed to snag a UP174 for £45. Fingers crossed its a 1-CHIP

The thread creator asks for PAL 1Chip-SNES. For PAL-SNESes, ring vs. dots always works. For NTSC SNESes you are correct, the SNS-CPU-APU-01 shows the ring, too (and I guess also the SNS-CPU-RGB-01/02).

So my SNES arrived today, and it has the ring as opposed to the dots, so im assuming it's a 1-CHIP model. Happy as a pig in shit
