I was wondering if there are any arcade PCBs besides the Namco 1998 Tenkomori Shooting/Tenkomori Variety Shooting PCBs that can output in high resolution JVS?
What current Japanese arcade cabinets have built-in JVS hardware + Jamma setup?
Is it possible to buy a JVS hardware rig setup and use it along side with Jamma setup?

Are there any arcade PCBs that output JVS besides Tenkomori?

i was going to ask the same question. If I had a high res monitor put in my cab could I have two harnesses connected to it at once; one jamma, one JVS?
Feedback will set you free.

In this case you'd want a JVS->Jamma I/O converter board. This will make your jamma harness compatible with JVS games, but then you'd have to run the monitor direct to the JVS VGA connector (or optionally allow the JVS converter to downscale the video...usually jvs games have an option for video).
As to which cabs support JVS out of the box, the Windy2 comes with the konami i/o adapter to make it compatible with both JVS or jamma. The Egret 3, and new Atomiswave cabs are also JVS ready but you'd have to buy a converter seperatly if you wanted to play regular jamma on them. Namco CyberLead are JVS and look like they might come with IO adapters.
As to which PCBs support JVS, Namco System 12 (and possibly later versions like the Tekken 4+5 PCBs), Type-X, and Naomi are the only ones I'm aware of.

Re: Are there any arcade PCBs that output JVS besides Tenkom
Tenkomori and other system 12 games do not output high resolution VGA. The JVS connectors are only there to ease the connetion to a JVS cabinet. If the JVS cabinet has a tri sync screen it will work nicely.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:I was wondering if there are any arcade PCBs besides the Namco 1998 Tenkomori Shooting/Tenkomori Variety Shooting PCBs that can output in high resolution JVS?
One thing to note is that some games like Mr Driller & Soul Calibur can output interlaced as well thus greatly improving the image. Tenkomori has no interlace option since it's a vertical game.
