What's your usual method of payment for buying imports?

I want to try ordering from playasia for the first time, do you use a paypal account, pay by credit card directly or any other way?

I'm leaning towards using paypal, it seems like a secure enough method of paying, anyone had problems with it?

I've used paypal a couple of times with PA now. Works fine. No problems. Only downside is with pre-orders. You have to pay the full amount immediately as opposed to a small portion upon order completion and the rest later. No big deal though.

I see, I guess that's not too much a problem. I don't want to put too much into a paypal account at the moment, preferably just a bit over the price of the item I'm buying.

Is there a risk of PA charging more from the account, than what I planned on paying?

When ordering from Play-Asia or other HK based places, I always use Paypal. Why? Simply because the morons over at Visa think there's fraud being perpetrated whenever I use my debit card to order something from overseas. They have put a hold on my account _three times_ because of this, which is, needless to say, really damn annoying, especially since each time has been on an order from Play-Asia.

I don't think there's any risk being overcharged by PA when you use PayPal, simply because you are the one clicking the link that says 'send money' and confirming the amount.

I just did an order and paid through Paypal. It's the simplest way to go i think. It def saves me time from having to type in all the CC info for a Visa. If i'm going through someone local like NCSX.com i choose the CC info because they save that on they're Database. Makes the next order all the easier.

I payed by credit card from PA on my first purchase and had no problems. Payment was confirmed immediately and the item shipped.

I'll be doing the same thing next time.

Use credit cards (Paypal or otherwise) whenever possible. Money order and bank Paypal should only be used for people you feel you can trust. That will prevent you from getting ripped off as much as possible.

I work for Mastercard and I don't see why anyone would have problems with PA.

Use Mastercard  or Paypal of course.

Ok, think I'll just take the plunge and go with paypal for now. Alot of you have had no problems so far, I'll take the risk. I've always been one to stay away from credit cards, don't trust myself with them yet. I may reconsider them later though.

Thanx for all the info guys.

I've been told PayPal was faster than credit cards, prolly because your bank(?) doesn't have to give its authorization or sth like that.

I use Paypal without any issue. They do a lot of shady stuff but at the same time, me setting up a purchase from some Japanese import site and transferring in the exact amount of money required and then ordering the item isn't the kind of transaction log that really gets any trouble.

Anything that isn't games that I would want, there's a store close enough for me to not have to order online.
